Light Trails/Sights around Sedona AZ

Hi and from San Diego. Wife set up family trip to Sedona next week to eat up some timeshare points. Any recommendations on light wheeling trails in the area for spectacular sights. Won't have the buddy system so aggressive trails are not an option. Thanks. Mike

Schnebly Hill Rd is a good easy trail. It starts out as a road from Hwy 179 then becomes dirt road. It has spectacular views. It's a long trail. I have done it twice but have always started late and never made it all the way through. I suggest you start early in the morning. It goes all the way through to Hwy 17. It might be boring for some who like challenges. It's where the Pink Jeep takes tourist. If you want a little challenge, Broken Arrow is a good trail with views and a challenge at the end (I believe it's devil's stairway).

Check out Schnebly Hill. I drove up to Sedona from Southern California over the long Thanksgiving weekend and drove this trail. When was there it was heavily trafficked not difficult at all and will lead you to some really great sights the wife will love.

There are a few great overlooks like this one you can enjoy along the way.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll possibly check out if the wife is ok. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/happy/happy0065.gif

Not a 4x4 road, but if you get a chance and have never been to Jerome, check it out. Really cool old mining town.

You could drive up to the "End of the World" End of the World - Backpacking/Camping
North from Sedona on 89A through Oak Creek Canyon, up the switch backs, then onto to forest service roads that bring you back towards Sedona, but at a much higher elevation.
