Showering while camping. You're all worthless and weak. There's no better feeling than being out for 7 or 10 days, then taking that first long, hot shower. If you stink so bad after a few days without a shower that you absolutely have to have one, you need to change your diet (processed food intake has a lot to do with your BO) and wipe your ass better.

Get down with the funk!

Surprised about all the "weak" comments... i like to hike and do physical stuff which can involve a lot of sweating on a nice day and a rinse off before bed is awesome. I assume all these other folks just sit and dont sweat.... or maybe i just like that clean feeling crawling into my sleeping bag.

could you just imagine, how bad their rigs and sleeping bags smell?
I also like crawling into a nice clean bed (sleeping bag) and being clean, myself.

I have a few of those for my "hurricane water" when I need to fill them up. LOL

Great containers though!!

I agree, it doesn't have to be a full on shower, but I really don't like wearing long pants or jeans if I can avoid it, and my legs always get super dirty. Sure, I can clean them up with wet wipes, but if my legs are dirty, then my face and neck most likely is. A quick 2 minute shower with one of those solar bags has always sufficed really well for me, but I'm also normally camping within reach of a creek, river or ocean or something, so I'd just get in there!!

This is also a really cool idea. Saw a guy made his own recently, but this is available for sale to pressurize a regular jerry can lid.

We use these pop up for obstacles races and to change in at the beach. Not as thick as some of the others but if you're not back lit, it's fine. Folds down like a big sunshine.

With the shower part, just drop the bulb in a bucket of water. It charges via USB or a wall charger.

They're both worked out great and take up minimal space.

I have two modes of showering but I'm slowly gravitating toward the KISS concept of using a solar shower bag. I still have a Helton on board water heating heat exchanger installed in the engine bay of the Landcrusier but the shower bag is way easier to deal with.

Shower bags aren't JUST for solar shower but merely a nice way to hold water above your head. Usually, I'll heat up a Jetboil of water, then mix it in with the cold water that's in the bag. A 2.5 gal bag is all that I need for a nice, refreshing shower while camping. Usually I move daily so heating up a shower bag of water using the sun is a rare luxury. However, I might come up with a solution to secure a shower bag full of water to the top of the AutoHome RTT using three lines but I'm not sure.

I live in the SW where tall trees are as rare as hen's teeth so a little creativity is used to hang the shower bag above my head using the Thule load bars that sit under the RTT.

DIY Camp Solar Shower

I'm interested in building one this winter - going to wait until I have a roof rack figured out, but a straight piece of PVC would also suffice!

We've used our waterport for 2 years now. Our last two 9 day trips to Moab we have gotten 4 showers to a tank for the both of us. It also works great for cleaning cooking utensils and brushing teeth, etc. When it gets low or empty we just head into town to the outdoor store that has a free water fill and fill it back up. Stock up on some supplies and get back on the trails.
