I got the Mini and love it. It serves the purpose of giving my non-cellular iPad a signal for navigation. I use Gaia instead of Earthmate from Garmin for this purpose. I also wanted to have the SOS feature. I'm only using it for overlanding purposes, so someone that participates in other activities might prefer the explorer
