Yeah it's a bummer, right now I got 100 problems.

The better half and I are both off on the 17th so tentatively planning to head down pretty early on Friday and camp nearish the rally point.

If there's anyone else heading down from Pittsburgh, or also wants to join up Friday night, let me know and we'll figure it out.

Edit: Oh, and if anyone was planning on doing similar and looking at Hawk Recreation Area as a camp spot, I called and confirmed their close date (since it is only listed ambiguously as mid-Dec) as Dec 17th. Shucks.

Looking like the trails might have a little snow cover after this week....

We'll camp where we did last year, it's one of the few spots that easily has enough space for everyone.

I have been looking forward to this trip but unfortunately I had to cancel my leave for this weekend. Due to the COVID spike on my base, I’m now working one-day-on / one-day-off 12 hour days for at least the next three weeks.

Major bummer. I’ll have to get with you guys in the Spring.

It'll be cold, so if everyone can bring a little bit of wood, just one bag if you're buying it, that would be awesome. I don't expect we'll find much in the way of dry stuff given the recent snow.

Last month when I was out that way, someone was monitoring the channel listed, so just in case there are people without a license, let's use the following channels:

Amateur radio:
Primary: Simplex 146.58 MHz
Secondary: Simplex 147.48 MHz

I'm notoriously bad at remembering (or caring to) stop and take pics. You all are gonna have to help me out with that, otherwise there won't be any decent pics/video of this years trip!

Made it home safe. Today's trail riding (Sunday) was like a long and extended highlight reel of "Ice Road Truckers" lol!

Btw anyone curious about the 80 Series Land Cruiser that went down Union Springs with the 4Runner and Tacoma group. I saw it and Driver w/passenger at the rest-stop we came out at the same time. He recognized me and we waived when I passed him. Truck appeared completely unscathed.

Meh, but it was fun getting the recovery gear out and watching Matt's Taco pulling a 5K lbs pig on wheels lol!

Had a great time seeing everyone this weekend! Always a highlight for me to these trips!
