How far was the trip from lets say NY? to where you guys camped.

Hey
@ giguchan
the area is nice in the summer, tends to be a lot more crowded in the warmer weather, seems to be where just about everyone from the DC metro area goes to get off road... For distance reference, take a look at how long it would take you to get to Harrisonburg, VA. That site is basically 30 minutes due west in the GWNF. Probably quite a haul from where you're at.

I think you might be right. I'm on the other side of the GWB.
Thanks for the reply.!

Hey! Don't check in on the forum much these days. Pretty bad at social media, too, but if you're on Facebook there's a ragtag relatively disorganized group named 'pittsburgh overlanders' where we try to do some meet ups here and there and people post up when they are going out for rides and stuff. Rides n stuff generally ranges between mostly gravel roads and some beers to weekend trips to nearby states. We have a meetup next wed on the north side. Just did a trip over memorial day weekend up to ride MTB at the DTE trails up in Chelsea MI and hit Bundy hill off-road park the next day, so there's a bit of everything going on....

Congrats on moving to a state with not a lot of decent wheeling places, haha. Seriously, PA is so overcrowed and there's just not a good selection of places compared to out west. There are several pay-to-play offroad parks around tho, if you like that sort of thing. Unfortunately, life has managed to curtail my offroad adventures over the past few years so I'm not going to be of much help getting out to explore. I usually watch the forums and social media pages for organised trips like the one in this thread.

I know each year someone has stepped up and did some scouting and planning which I’m grateful for.
If that can’t be done, I would love even a short ride and a camp fire (the best part).

I'm interested as well, haven't gotten out as much this year.
If no one has time to figure out new routes etc I think keeping it simple sounds fine.
Maybe:
Up Union Springs (the icy mess we passed on last year).
Down Dunkle Hollow.
Camp at the exact same spot.
Make an even bigger fire (if possible).

Seems several of us have come back to this thread with hope, haha.
I'm also up for another run.

Haha, I'm also back to check and see if anyone was interested in doing another trip. I missed out last year but would love to meet up with everyone this year again.

I’m in for an overnight next weekend - 12/18-19, or a day run. Anyone else?
I’m not the as familiar with the trails as others, but willing to hit one of the usual trails.
