Traction board security

What is everyone using to keep your boards from being stolen? Putting them inside the car is not an option for me. Mine will be on the roof rack. I'd rather just use cheap ratchet straps instead of some expensive mount, but I would need a way to lock them. Thought about using a cable lock, but those are just too easy to cut. The max trax pin types with a pad lock might be ok. Anyone have a good diy method? Or a product I never heard of?

I take them off roof unless I am offroading. When on the road to an adventure, I have a combo lock on one of the maxtrax pins. Once on trail, I take the lock off for easy access. Lock it again before driving home.

See the front driver side pin in pic below.

I use prayer lol. But in all seriousness, I have never had a problem with someone stealing mine and I leave them on my roof rack 24/7 with just a ratchet strap. If someone is willing to cut through a ratchet strap they'll be able to cut through a cable lock. Either take them off every time you're not wheeling or maybe you could get an adjustable padlock that could fit your needs.

^^^Maybe something like this^^^

What did you use to attach the pins to the rack? I also have a Gobi.

I used K9 MAXTRAX Mount Set i bought off of EQUIPT. I think overlander.com has it too.

I forget if i bought SS bolts from home depot to mount or they came with them. If I did buy from home depot it was 3/8" SS bolts, washers, and nylon nuts.

I use a couple of Bolt brand coupler locks. I place the bent pin through the top and have the lock under the roof rack. The height works perfect for 4 Treds on my Gobi rack.
Some shit rats set my alarm off at 2am when they tried stealing my Treds first night last year in Leadville, but with no luck. Previous year someone also tried stealing them at a overnight rest stop in eastern Colorado along I70. I was sleeping in the teardrop hooked up both times.
