A buddy of mine and I did Black Bear not quite 2 weeks before this incident happened. We did Poughkeepsie Gulch, Hurricane Pass and Corkscrew Pass prior to hitting Black Bear. A little ways before where this video begins (which is heading down to the first switchback turn on Black Bear) are what are referred to as the steps. There's a small waterfall right next to the descent. When we got to the bottom of the steps there was a Mercedes sedan with a flat tire parked next to the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, just off the trail. No idea what it was doing there. Obviously someone had abandoned it there and had doubtless driven it up from Telluride, even though it's one way coming down until you get to Bridal Veil Falls, which is where the serious switchbacks end (there are additional switchbacks but they're nowhere near as technical as the one's down to that point) . Never heard anything after the fact about that car being there, or how it got there.

Was it out of the way or did it effect your line?. There is a little section by that water fall where you skid just a little sideways and and if you slam on your brakes it makes it titer tote.

That was intense and too much of an off-road adventure.

It was up against the wall next to the pool under the waterfall so it was completely out of the way. Not something I would have expected to see way up there.
