Post Explorer Pro Comp Suspension Setup Question

Hello all,

I'm a relitively new member to these forums, and I've only had the chance to enjoy my 97 4Runner for about 2 months now. I do, however, know that I want to add a lift kit and some tires so I can offroad this winter.

I went to my local 4 Wheel Parts store and talked to some people there, and I said that I wanted a mild lift kit. They recommended that I go with a setup made by Explorer Pro Comp. Its a 4/3 Coil-over lift kit, but my only concern is that its made for the Tacoma and not the 4Runner. Normally I'd be more in the know about these things, but since I'm relatively new to the 4Runner, will this kit work on my truck or do I need to go with something else? The part number is EXP5050BMX if anybody wants to check it out. They quoted me 1,748+install, and I'm trying to find a cheaper place to buy it if it turns out that this is the right kit for me.

My Dad was feeling generous one day and decided to give me his old winch he used to use when he offroaded, so I'm also looking at buying an ARB bumper (ARB343020) so I can put the winch on my truck. Is this a decent replacement bumper to use on the 4Runner?

Are there some other mild lift kits which people would recommend for the 4Runner? I have tons of more questions that I want to ask but I'll leave it at that for now.

I think they feed you a load of crap. The Tacoma setup wont fit the 4runner, especially since the Taco rear is leaf spring. There are other brands out there, try Old Man Emu (OME) for starters.
The ARB bumper is a great product. I would recommend one. Check out TJM aswell. If you do get one of these bumpers you would be wise to upgrade the suspension at or around the same time, due to the extra weight.
