Badlands offroad jack initial impressions

After waiting 2 months and a day HF brings me an Ash Wednesday surprise. This thing goes silly high. I can't even get under my front or rear diff with the extension on lol.

This thing is seriously nice. Good build quality, lots of little thoughtful features like the double retention system for the extension and a little retention area for the wrench to put it on. Also the 45 degree handle lock is such a cool feature. Makes it easy to move it around on two wheels so you can turn it. Carry handle is right smack dab in the center of gravity. All the bolted plates are very clean, the welds look solid and the powder coating is solid. It's also lighter than I thought it would be. Only thing I wish it had was a retention spot for the handle pieces.

Gets the truck in the air very quickly. So much better than the craftsman floor jack I've been borrowing from a friend for the last few months that could only get the front end just barely off the ground enough for jack stands to keep it in the air and that was when jacking off the spot where the ball joint goes into the end of my LCA which was the lowest spot on the front end.

Pretty hard to beat for 300 smackers.

Probably overkill for my needs but I want one. HF has gone up in price over the years but they have made up for it with much better quality.

Tell you what if I ever have to replace a CV on a trail, I feel much better with this than I would a hi lift (obviously back it up with a tire and rocks). But yeah you can tell that HF has been sending American QC teams to China lately. And still very good prices for the quality. I've been super happy also with the Hercules super torque impact. Not way cheaper than the competition but seems every bit as quality as my buddy's Milwaukee. I've done a few jobs on the first charge so far and it's still showing full on the 5ah battery and it's busted every nut and bolt with ease. Definitely still some tools I'm leary of there though, specifically the cheaper line of power tools. I'll go with Pittsburgh all day though on basic hand tools and sockets.
