Anyone have 85' front spring suggestions?

Hey, my 85 runner has 7" Skyjacker springs front and 6" Skyjacker springs rear. I've had them for about 4 years or so, and their starting to sag. But worse, the passenger side has been sagging up front alot more. It's down about 2 1/2 inches lower than the driver side. The spring has no cracks, just loosing tension/temper. I want to go new springs up front, but want to keep in the 7"-8" of lift range. I was thinking about going all-pro 5" springs and then doing a 3" shackle lift. Anyone have suggestions on good springs, at a reasonable price. As you can see from the pic of my runner, I do use it offroad, and not for site-seeing....

Serious answer

Hey for a better suited serious answer check out www.4x4wire.com, www.pirate4x4.com. Those two are the best suited older Yota sites, I followed them for years now. The guys on Pirate are hardcore, they will flame but they probably have the most knowledge on older yota's. ALL Pro is crap though, I had there SAS kit on my 86 runner, I would just go with Rancho 44044's which are built for the Wagoneer and will bolt up with a little help and give you more flex and weight baring than anything else out there, they are longer though so they will make your front axle move forward slightly.

If you don't want 44044's, there are better springs out there, stay away from NWOR springs they suck, I've been out of the leaf market for a few years, I crossed over for a while and had a Jeep with Coils, but I'm in the Autocross/ Autobahn enjoyment market now. The Runner's my wifes till the warrenty runs out then its mine))))

Best springs I've ever had were by Rubicon express, but I don't think they make springs for Toyota's. Rancho makes a really good spring but they don't have the lift your looking for unless you swap around like the 44's.

Search on Pirate, you'll see hundreds of pics of insane flex and durability for those springs.

Hope I didn't confuse you,

T

I guess All Pro's quality has gotten better, AOR is really good stuff too. You can catch up on what I missed here.

Thanx alot!

That helped out a bit for future suspension purchasing...
For the time being, I'm tight on cash while going to school in the Toyota Technician program, I'm going to have the 2 front springs re-arched, I talked to some spring shops, and I should be able to get them both re-arched back to 7" for about 100 bucks. I know the same problem will happen again, but it took about 3 years or so. So I should be able to afford new springs by then!!!

Thumbs up Glad I could be of assistance.

Enjoy those other sites, they are very informative, but pirate can be harsh, you have been warned.

Yeah, I agree

But I try to present people with the facts, I wouldn't buy ALL Pro based on my 86 SAS Runner that I had and I used some of there crap, mainly the problem was with their front hanger, it was trash.

Oh well,

Due to their cheap price, I put all-pro's 5" up front to get me by for a while... after checking out AOR's Orbit eye's, I am definately putting those on my 85, when money permits...

Congrats

Orbit eye's are the heat, if you watch those other boards you might find some for cheap every once in a while. REally glad I could be of assistance to you.
