Smile Daystar Leveling Kit Installed

EDIT - Alright, someone help a photo newbie out. What am I doing wrong? DOUBLE EDIT - See Avatar.

I apologize for the poor quality pics, but at least my T4R is finally starting to look more like a truck and less like a minivan.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

How are you liking the BFGs. I'm debating between the Nitto Terra Grappler, the BFG, and the MTR.

Decisions, decisions..........

MAC,

Betweent the Nitto, BFG, and Muds it comes down to price and your willingness to put up with tire noise. The Nitto and BFG will have less roadnoise whereas the Muds will wear quicker and be the loudest of the three. The Nitto and BFG are very similar when it comes to performance and wear, but the Nitto is significatly cheaper.

If you do a lot of wheelin' and need that extra grip, the Muds are the way to go. If you do a lot of highway driving and want limited road noise go with the Nitto (cheapest) or the BFG (most expensive).

For what it's worth...

Thanks for the advice. I have yet to see a Nitto in person, but have heard nothing but good things about them. If it were totally up to me I'd get the MTRs but I think the other half wouldn't appreciate the road noise and replacement frequency. :o

I'm planning a trip to Discount Tire this weekend to get a better feel for the Nitto.

To be continued..................

i'm running 275 MTRs right now and to be honest, i never did notice them being "loud" ... if you have the radio on at all you don't notice really any noise out there!

i've just been very impressed with my MTRs.

If you make the file a little smaller, you can attach it directly to the post from your computer by using the "Attach File" field on the posting page. A lot of free web hosting services do not allow you to link directly to pics. This bypasses them completely.

How much does this kit raise the front end?

Looking at the pics, it seems like quite a bit... kinda reminds me of the Ford Explorer. Did you ever notice that they always seem to be higher in the front than the rear? My buddy has one and I always tell him to go back to the dealer and get new rear springs because his must be sagging.

Did you adjust your headlights after installing the kit?

I installed a 1" spacer from Daystar in the front but the resulting lift was much greater than 1". I'm currently 1/4" higher in the front than the rear, which will be fixed shortly thanks to NE. I should have a 1/2" spacer for the rear in route. I'm very happy with the results as I've noticed no difference in the ride or handling in my T4R. No headlight adjustment post lift and I have yet to have someone flash me from the oncoming lane. This is as high as I want to go as I have a 3 month old and don't want to have to climb a step ladder to get her in the car seat.

YMMV

yep, MAC, soon as you tell me what color you want them, they'll go out!!

also, keep in mind that the first few days after your lift and before you get your truck realigned, you will be riding higher than what the lift specified. it has to settle in place a bit over the first few days.

anyway ... i emailed this to you a few days ago - but just tell me what color you want your spacers and we'll send them your way. i'll try emailing you again just in case you don't see this.
