Hey all!
I just purchased a 2nd gen the other day; really excited to get into the woods FINALLY. I am temporarily pulling out of the moded car scene and into something a little more practical and different.
Hope to meet a few of you guys me being completely new and out of my element!

Welcome, check out the Central VA poll. They are trying to line up something for March or April, should be a good time. Will be my first outing in my second gen.

Just joined up this week, after picking up my T4R Trail on Monday.
Any recommendations for starter/newb trails in NOVA? (closer than Harrisonburg?)

Peter's Mill/Taskers Gap is fairly easy. Lots of rock gardens so take your time there.....there are some pics earlier on in this thread both from other members and myself. It can get overgrown depending on the time of year so if you're afraid of scratching your paint you might avoid it. You can buff out the scratches fairly easily though. You will need to purchase a permit to drive on this trail. I think it was $5 or so, but I don't remember exactly.

I drove part of Long Run Road in December. That was very wide and had some nice views in certain parts. Judging from the map you can start in Virginia and drive all the way to West Virginia, but I can't confirm this is true (I'm going to give it a shot in the upcoming months). There were some moguls later on, but for the most part it is hard packed dirt and gravel with ruts. There were some larger mud puddles too.

I had plenty of clearance for both of these even with running boards; you don't need any special modifications. You can run Peter's Mill in 4low and probably 4high, but I found driving was easier in 4low. I was in 4High for most of the time on Long Run road. Both of these trails have bay car washes in the towns nearby so you can rinse off any mud or dust after you're done. The mud on "Long Run" is somewhat sticky; next time I plan to coat the wheel wells with a few coats of WD40 Silicone spray before I start to make clean up easier (winter tip, spray down your snow shovel with the stuff and snow won't get caked on. Keeps snow from sticking!)

Hey guys, just joined this site this week after having my 16 T4R SR5 for about 3 months now.
Any recommendations for trails for a stater/newb? Looking to get into the off roading a little bit more, but still have things to learn about it all.
