Android Phone Update Delays
Link: Moto Exec on Android Upgrade Delays: It's The Hardware | News & Opinion | PCMag.com
Finally, there is some explanation as to why updates on non-Google phone has been so slow. Hell, my wife's Google phone is still waiting for ICS (4.0). But, this link does highlight the problem with updates...and this is from a high end executive whose future boss is the person that she is blaming (aka Google).
Link: Google isn't abandoning CDMA users, it insists - Rethink Wireless
I think that CDMA Android phones (Sprint & Verizon) will have even MORE update delays! Basically, updates will be much easier push to GSM phones (ATT and TMo). And this will apply to Google's Galaxy Nexus on Verizon too!

Software updates...I know that you're just joking but I don't want to confuse people.
Yet, the 4s is still breaking sales record....
Besides a slightly bigger screen, what else were you looking for in the iPhone 5?

haha well I am just joking around but yes, although many Android users are waiting for ICS, millions of Apple fans have been waiting 1.5 yrs for the iPhone 5 and will havebto continue waiting until Oct. 2012.
I now have a work iPhone and I think it is a better phone than my Droid-x2.

My question still stands...what feature(s) are you missing on the 4S compared to other top tier smartphones that is not there besides the bigger screen??
The small 3.5 screen does serve a vital purpose...and clearly, Apple can make bigger beautiful screens if they want to...but they chose not to for a reason. iPhone 5 will only have 4.0 screen max from rumors. Apple wants an iPhone to be a phone first and foremost...and emphasizes the ability to use the phone with one hand.
Camera is top notch. Siri is innovative and the future of smartphones. Unlike certain phones (Galaxy Nexus for example), A5 chip in 4S has equally good CPU and GPU.
So, what is missing in the 4S that you so much want in a 5?? The current form factor is flawless...beautiful design with top materials. Read this link from an Android fanboy: iPhone 4S Up Close and Personal: Hardware - SlashGear
Not sure which iPhone you have from work, but you have to play a game that is optimized for iPhone 4S (such as Infinity Blade 2) with the A5 chip to really appreciate it!

The last two (#2 and 3) are software related...so, not really an iPhone 5 feature. And Apple will NEVER have #3 because of porn and viral crap. Android just did a Market cleaning due to viruses...NO THANKS!! Why would i want porn on my smartphone for my kids to see?? Creepy other apps too that steals your identity?? NO THANKS.

I just went from a droid to the 4s. The 4S is the smoothest phone i've ever owned. Even my droid would hang up from time to time, like when playin music, and then taking a pic and sending it... The iPhone too you have to realize there isnt 50000 new iPhones coming out each month like w/ HTC therefore its built really well. And incredibly stable.

How about 4g internet, bigger screen, thinner profile, and fix the software problems with the 4s. I don't hate apple but some of the new android phone are really nice. I have the galaxy s2 and my wife has the iphone 4s so that is my comparision. She had the captivate before and that sucked!

4G sucks battery...and that was why Apple did not include it...they have not found a 4G radio/chip that would work nicely with battery life. Thinner profile is limited to design (glass panels kinda limit that). The iPhone 5 is supposedly metal back (like ipod touch)...so, your wish may come true. What software problem with 4S? Battery? Well, that is coming in 5.1...but, even without it, 4S battery should outlast any Android phone. Android is full of software problems, esp. Gingerbread!

Well my wife is having problems with it switching off the home network to 3g and back every 3-5 seconds. Causing her to go over her data plan for the first time ever. Another friend makes calls on her 4s and the person on the other end can't hear her. I can't really tell a difference in battery life between my s2 and her 4s. I agree with you that android does have more software issues. Everyone has there opinion, pick what you like, they are all smartphones and basically do the same thing. Cheers!

Has she turned off the phone? Has she tried restoring the phone? Has she brought it to Apple store for diagnostic?
For me, i don't have the 3G/Wifi switching...none that i have read either on the forums. Is there something wrong with your Wifi router? Sometimes, my Wifi would freeze...only to find out that my router is at fault. As for phone call issue, i have had that problem maybe 2-3 times since November. Have you had it more common??? As for battery, just wait for 5.1...it will make the 4S much better than your S2.
And unlike S2, 4S will get 5.1 in March...it may be months from now before your S2 get ICS. Some predict mid to later this year, esp. if you have a CDMA S2.
BTW, restoring is super easy!! Do it with your home computer/laptop. Sync it before restoring so that the computer stores ALL your settings, not just apps and pictures. Basically, after restoring, all you have to do is pick which songs (if any) to download from the Cloud. You don't have to do the settings again...everything will be brought back to what you had before!

Just curious do you not think gnex is a better phone? I mean other than the speaker and camera I like it way better than the iphone. ICS is sweet. My home screens is a live wallpaper looking into a coy fish pond... and yes you can feed them and it's pretty much amazing haha stupid I know but fun. Love the folders they created with ICS, very handy. Screen is amazing. Sorta hybrid phone/ tablet great for writing emails and watching movies. Internet is SUPER fast and the battery is actually not that bad. Opening multiple tabs really easy, checking back at past apps running screen. Big screen for GPS is really nice on this thing too. It's not "perfect" and has a few quirks that need polish but I'd rebuy it over the iphone for sure.
Iphone is a solid reliable phone but play with a gnex in a not iphone fanboy tunnel and you will think this phone is sick.
BTW everyone should download mx mayhem. Pretty sweet
