We just ended up with a Snapper rear engine rider that has the Briggs professional series engine and 33" deck. We have only used it once this season, but so far I am very happy with it. All it does is mow, so there is no pretense of it being a tractor.

Had a Cub Cadet from dealer 38" 2 blade cutting deck 16Hp Kohler. Ran great did nice job, up until about 16yrs old, no rust/rot on it anywhere. I could never get the "Strip" between the blades to go away. I never took it to the dealer, they may have been able to. I sold it.Bought JD X360 42" 3 blade cutting deck 24Hp Kawi. WOW They say nothing runs like a deere, nothing cuts like a deere at least for me. 1/2-3/4 acre home owner. about 130hrs TT . I use it to pull utility trailer around to move it Cub did too. Both were from dealers.

You can't miss with either one, Deere was on sale, so I bought it. Only got to use it two seasons before we moved and don't need rider now, so it got sold.

My yard guy has a Gravely Zero Turn. He is pretty happy with it.

My suggestions are to get a mower with three blades, not two, cut is much better from my experience. Avoid big box stores, those units are cheaper for a reason and service will probably suck. Support a local dealer. I went from a tractor to a zero turn and will never buy another tractor unless by some miracle I would move to a much larger property which isn't going to happen. Even in that impossibility, I would still buy zero turn, just much larger than I presently own. FWIW, I am extremely happy with my 4 year old Gravely. They did every thing right in my estimation.

One day maybe something better. So far I'm still riding the now 21 year old Home Depot/John Deere mower. Occasionally needed parts have still been easy to get and it's still doing pretty good. Would I recommend it? If your budget is as skinny as mine (I blame all the car parts)...it's been a good deal.
