USPS Isn't Delivering My Mail!
So early last week I ordered a Contura II switch from OTRATTW. OTRATTW was great (as usual) and sent me the switch via USPS and provided me with the tracking number.
Jump ahead a couple days to 6/13: I tracked the package while I was at work and the status said that it was delivered, but when I got home, nothing. I didn't really think anything of it and figured it was a mistake and would come the next day...Wrong. The next day rolled around and still nothing...That is when I realized that not only had I not received the package, we hadn't received any other mail. This is extremely unusual and normally our mailbox has something in it just about every day; whether it be bills, magazines, or even spam mail...
It has now been 5 full delivery days and I have still not received my package or any normal mail. I have called USPS 3 times; Once regarding the package and twice regarding not receiving any mail. They told me that I would hear back from someone in 1 business day. Yeah right!
When I still hadn't heard anything, I called again yesterday and they told me that they were going to escalate my case and make it a high priority.
Finally, I heard back from them today, but all they told me is that they are going to follow up with my carrier to see if he remembers what he did with the package...
We are extremely frustrated and starting to get worried because obviously our there are bills that have to be paid and we don't want to get penalized for paying them late. Also, my wife's parents sent us a check in the mail and we are worried that it is either lost or stolen...
So does anyone know what might be going on or what we can do to try to fix the problem? Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do?

Sorry for your inconvenience with the USPS. I hope it gets figured out! On a side note, it's funny I ran across this thread and it happened to have OTRATTW involved in the story. I ordered a switch for my rear locker from them a good while back. I had a trip that weekend to the park and was very eager to receive it cus that's all I had left of the project. Come friday, no switch but said it was delivered. Upset of course, I just left for the weekend. Come Monday, no package. Tuesday, no package. Finally got on the phone and found out it had been lost!! Go figure. So, OTRATTW was nice enough to send me another switch. Got it in no time. Still haven't gotten the first one. Blows my mind how crappy the USPS can be, they lose stuff all the time. All the delivery company's should be held way more accountable than they really are. They get away with a lot I think. Hell, I found a completely sealed FedEx package in the road of a neighborhood while working and it had a close address. So I delivered it and right before I pulled away FedEx pulls up to deliver the other 1 of 2 packages. I get out and told her I delivered her other package for her and that she should be A LOT more aware of the ONE thing she has to do for her job.
Anyways, hope you get it all resolved!

Yeah it is just so frustrating! When I talked to the representative yesterday she said that she would follow up with the carrier and get back to me this morning. She even asked if 8:00 was too early. Needless to say I still haven't heard anything. I will probably give it until the early afternoon, then call again. Such a ridiculous waste of time!
On a happier note, OTRATTW is great! When I placed my order I received an email that said the rocker switch I selected is no longer available. They apologized for the inconvenience and offered to help me select a different switch based on my application. I can't tell you if it works because it probably got lost in the mail, but I was very happy with their customer service and willingness to help and make the situation right.

USPS gives me lots of trouble too over complete nonsense. For your case, I would just go there and talk to someone. Maybe your mail is at your local PO even. This obviously is a big concern and problematic - tell them that. If you're lucky, someone will be nice and helpful and able to help you out.

They are good to me, except...
I buy quite a few cheap things from China / HongKong and about 1 out of 5 packages is ripped open and empty, arrives in a nice plastic bag with apology from the post office...

Any recent moves or changes of address? The same thing happened to me after moving a few years ago. Turns out my shipping address was automatically changed to my previous one, the forwarding expired and the package was in the bushes of my old place.
Doesn't explain why there is no other mail. How are your neighbors with mail?

Unless 10 months is considered recent, then no....
We did finally hear back from USPS and believe it or not they found my package! The carrier said that he found it in one of his "outgoing" trays so it must have just gotten misplaced or something. I really don't care, I am just glad that I received it and didn't have to file a claim or something like that.
Also, for whatever reason, they started delivering our mail again. The last two days I have come home to a stuffed mailbox. I wish they could provide me with an explanation as to what happened but, I can only speculate that something happend at our local Post Office that caused a backup. Oh well, at least we are receiving our mail again!

I would speculate that your mail carrier wasn't taking the whole "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." bit seriously, got busted, and finally got your mail to you, lol. How old was the mail that was suddenly stuffed into your mailbox? Glad to hear you finally got it.

Haha you're probably right, because the actual post office could not provide any explanation and said that the carrier should be delivering the mail. Some of the stuff was postmarked from early last week I think the carrier just got lazy or was out sick, blah blah blah.
