Not really a "driving game", but I used to spend HOURS playing Mario Cart.

Grand Turismo 5 is good except half the cars are crap. Test Drive Unltd. 2 is also good and its open world which is alot of fun. U can instant challenge ppl to race and bet $. One of my faves is Baja:Edge of Control. U race on the circuit and as u win u can upgrade ur vehicle. Tires, shocks, engine performance and durability. When u win ur class u move up. Start out in a buggy and progress to TrophyTrucks! IMO thee best game for off-roaders.

Oh man! That pic does bring me back! I used to LOVE flinging that wheel around while hittin' the turbo. What a game!

2 buttons, 4way directional control, 16-bit graphics, MIDI sound. Heck yes.
I think I still have my nintendo around somewhere with that game, I need to try and find it now.

Oh man, Cruisin' USA had some of the best competition and tightest races ever on two player. Remember hitting the one button a bunch of times for a "boost" non stop. Loved that one!

pole position!
I am master of the PC Dirt series... actually Grid too. I did an online battle with a friend and came up with like 400 million drift points or something insane.
I like dirt because I can apply some of the same techniques with my "rally" car. haha
