Old tires - how to dispose
Over time I have accumulated a lot of old tires (truck & trailer) and our local transfer station (dump) wants a significant amount of $$ per tire to dispose of, anyone have any better ideas? I tried to find a company that would recycle them or use them for other things but no luck yet. I am not necessarily looking for it to be free (would not hurt though) but just maybe something in the middle. If anyone has thoughts please let me know! Thanks!

Try calling Town Fair Tire. I know there is one on the Cape..
I think they take them back for a few dollars?
But better off if you call them first to check.

Thanks for the info! I called and waited on hold for 5 minutes and gave up. I called my local shop and he gave me a company (off-cape) that comes here to picks them up for a small disposal fee (lot less than the 'dump' would be). Called and left a message with them so just have to set up a day/time.

If you can find a commercial recycling outfit, they'll frequently take your tires for free. Liberty Tire Recycling - Recycle. It's Our Commitment.
Or just use them - I've got a couple kicking around I'm going to turn into planters in my box garden.
