ive got a 650 and 900 yard metal target out there. I had a 400 yard one also, but I think someone took it. the other 2 should still be there. 900 yards is a long damn ways. as much space is out there, it was actually kind of hard to find a safe area to shoot that far. we were looking for 1k, but literally ran out of area.

The spot I generally visit has gongs from 1000-850 yards. Somebody had put them out there years ago. To my surprise most folks I've run into always ask "whatchu shooting at?". If you're not examine those plates closely you'r assume its just a rock. Not too many folks know about the gongs out there then again most guys are just blasting pistols or AR's at paper targets.

Some time after the quarantine I'm taking my drone out to scope out some area as I plan to install a couple gongs between 1000-1200 yards.

I'm jealous - used to have a pay to shoot range that had 700yds not too far from my house. Gun shop that owned it rented Machine Guns at the range.

Shooting from a sandbagged bench rest, I had my iron sight M1A all the way out to the 700yd gong.

Had to crank up the elevation knob quite a bit but was able to walk shots into the 700yd gong.

There was another fella shooting a 300 win mag from a lead sled who was in disbelief that I could hit 700yds with iron sights. Showed him.

Gun shops are semi-essential here in Commiefornia, so I can't get too much range time right now

After discussing current events with my Sister, I sent her a Ruger PCC 9mm carbine to a FFL in Michigan for her and the family. Also sent them a care package to include 3 Polymer 80 Glock kits for my niece and 2 nephews, plus 8 mags, and 600rds of ammo.

The FFL I transferred the rifle promised to give a safety lesson to my Sister and Brother In Law (BIL). My sister commented that the whole family will take firearms training once things are back to normal.

Sent a bunch of emails with videos to my BIL on gun safety, building P80 Glocks, and shooting the Ruger Carbine.

I picked up a 2nd Ruger Carbine for myself. Lots of fun, handles a lot like a Ruger 10/22 should be easy for a new shooter concerned with home defense to use.

Did a quick little 1 minute video on the basic operation of the Ruger Carbine:

Went through similar period back during the panic buying after Sandy Hook.

Just be patient is the only advice I can give. And you aren't alone. I have three standing orders from different sites for different items that are in the same state as yours.
I'm in the same boat with my complete pistol lower purchased from Aero Precision. fyi sign up for their emailer and receive a 10% off code. I'll patiently wait and

I have 2 more lowers to build - one will be a 20" HBAR build and I'm not certain on the other yet. Will wait on both of those until things quiet down again.

Build on brother. I'm working on a pistol 12" Faxon barrel 6.5 grendel side charger upper from a donor BCA side charging complete 6.5 grendel 16" upper. Fun times!

Thanks for that video. I have owned a 10/22 carbine in stainless for years now, and it is a decent farm gun. The problem is our nuisance critters are getting bigger than the .22 LR will handle, so I have been really interested in the PC9. I also like how it breaks down quickly.

Some shady stuff going on folks. This could get attached to the next relief bill they will try to push through while we are all distracted.
