Best Cheap 7" tablet...Nexus, Asus or Samsung
I want to buy a cheap 7" tablet for Mom for Christmas. All she does is play solitare, check email and read books, but I still want to make it a good one.
Can anyone share their experience with the ones they own? I'm really looking for something stable that's not crashing often and requiring rebooting, has good battery life and a clear screen. So far, it seems the Asus transformer version is pretty good. It would be nice if she could put her camera card in to view pics.

Yeah, that was my 1st thought. I may just do that. $200 is where I really want to be on this tablet too.

I got a Nexus 7 for the holidays and it is amazing. It does everything I need it to and fits in my pocket. I have the 32 gb model for $250. I can remotely log into my work computers/home laptop, make calls using google voice, and draft new word documents to just name a few things.

I'm going to be a nonconformist and say....Nexus 7. I've also got the 32Gb model.

ahhhh the Nexus 7 as sold right now ... does NOT offer an expandable memory card. There is no microSD card (or any other) slot on the device.
BUT it is still the best 7" Tablet out there in my opinion. I bought one for the GF and she really loves it.

I bought her the Asus Transformer TF300T because I was able to get the 10.1" for the price of the Nexus 7". It had 32gb storage for $299, no tax and free shipping. She loves it! Thanks for the input. Looks like I will get the Nexus 7" for myself when the time comes for me to get one though.

I like my Andrioid
I ordered a Nexus 10 about two weeks ago, and love it. It is my first tablet, after holding out on these smart phones / tablets for years.
I have about 6000 books that I got Amazon for free last year (I get about 2-3 sometimes 10 free a day), and in combination with my Google books, it's a nice device to go through them.
I primarily read really old books / classics ( like Plato, Homer, Tocqueville, 1800's classics, and old farming books on Google books) so this is really a nice device. The web browser etc is just a nice addition too.
I debated between nexus 7 or 10. I figured I would only use wi-fi only so might as well spend a little more for something I'm going to own for a while.
The Nexus 7 is nice too, but I just happen to went for the 10 because to me it's more suited for my purpose.
