What kind of work do you guys do in PS?
I've only used it for minor things like cutting objects/people from pics (in very easy cases), stitching panoramas, and playing with mod ideas (i.e. adding/deleting/changing single item colors).
I've definitely never used any of the plugins.

I had a copy of CS8 or 9 once... since then I've just been using PDN. it works alright. Much better with add ons.
First time I tried one of these.... I gotta try it on my T4R since it has a pretty engine. Came out pretty well considering I didn't use a tripod to get the exact same angle.
then a few more random ones as well
for example, I removed the license plate off the front on this one with the clone tool:
And then just playing with the "curves" function:

I like that 'translucent' pic. Reminds me of one that I made for a gizmodo challenge last christmas but forgot to submit. Hardest part was wrapping it well enough for a photo.
(Sony NEX-5 for my girlfriend for those wondering)
edit - sorry if I'm posting too much or too many pics, I'm not sure where this thread is going and just realized I may be derailing it.

Looked at my camera, it's an Olympus sp565uz. Had it for about 4-5 years now?

SICK thread!
This is one sick thread, I love that it is a photography thread, but with a subtle 4Runner influence as well. Very cool thread, thanks
@ rickashay
for starting it!
Might as well introduce my "photographic" side...I'm interested in photography, especially landscape/nature/wildlife photography, as well as off road Toyota rigs, especially 4Runners :P
I currently shoot with a Canon Powershot SX260 HS (built in GPS & tracking!), it's my 2nd Canon and my fourth camera, I previously had before the Canon, a Sony Mavica, the big bulky camera that took "mini" cds, it was unreliable and lost pictures, like of moose in Yellowstone.
I've made the choice to stay with a point and shoot for 2 reasons. First, because it's small and I like to take my camera many places - I also used to hike for a living in the summers, so I wanted something small and compact. Second, I have a limited budget, and I felt that I couldn't justify spending money on a DSLR at this point. But as time goes on, I feel more and more ready to upgrade... This thread is certainly pushing me along!
I do need more training in the "theory" of photography, what I mean is more understanding of shutter speeds and light and more technical training and understanding... I'm a very laid back photographer, I shoot when I feel like it so sometimes I won't shoot photos for a while.
I have so many photos, I think it would be impossible to share a select few... I did just return from 4 days of elk hunting in a remote area.
I could share and discuss photos all day, I love getting feedback, so feel free to be honest and such. and certainly let me know if I post in here/too many pictures if I do!
Some of my favorites from elk hunting (more photos in my photolog):

Loving this thread so far! Keep it up guys!

dude dont worry about the "theory"... -it has been almost 10 years sense i was actively taking pics, with an SLR(notice i said SLR and not DSLR...) once i lost my darkroom/lab access due to a relocation to another state, i kinda slowed down as the cost of both film and developing film was spendy, then one of my cameras decided it wanted to go for a swim... anyhow that was the end of my photography for a while. with this new camera i got, i leave it on program mostly just to relearn shutter speed=f stops again, and its working, i take note of them and the settings the camera picks, along with the ambient lighting ect... what i am saying is for someone like you farmerjon(with you being deaf), your visual acuteness and awareness/senses will be much more keen and im sure you will pick up things very fast... it wont take long man. if you can afford it pick up a DSLR, even a 10 or 12mp one, as long as it will shoot in RAW dude pick it up, then once you want to upgrade you can do so, and either sell that one or keep it as a second body(sometimes nice to have)... i see 50Ds and 40Ds on craigslist all the time for under $400, and for like $200 you can snag a 20D, sure they are not a 6D or one of the higher end nikons, but if your not sure you want to get into the DSLR, then dont spend the money to dive in... get a used one thats a couple years old, and a good lens -id invest more money in the lens personally than the body, lens' hold value much more than bodys..., and have fun try it out and if you like it save up for a nicer body.
you already have the "eye", and if you had not told me that you were not shooting with a DSLR, i would have never guessed it, your pics are deff amazing and make me jealous.

Sony NEX series is the ****. Anything 5 and up. I got the 5N and its amazing. For its size and overall performance. It's quite up there with the DSLRs but with a much smaller overall size.
Also it's low light performance is unreal. My buddy has the NEX7 which I also really like for its rotary knobs and quick to shoot style.
I want to post more photos but have always been looking at this thread through my iPhone which has none of the photos.
Really impressive work everyone. I knew we had a few avid photographers but not this many. Awesome!

Yeah especially for the price of most of them def. worth it. . lighting set I've used is two work lights (500w spot and 300w flood) from Home Depot with sheets i cut, lol
Also debating on upgrading from my 450D (XSi) to a 5dMkII/MkIII or the new 6D
Sushi anyone?
I used a light setup I had when I worked w/ my dad (500w w/ soft diffusers) to get this one.
