OK so I politely challenge anyone to show proof that illegal immigrants, or anyone here who is a non citizen with a VISA can vote in local, state or federal elections anywhere in the country.
They can't do it. It would be a felony.

That's like saying you can't carry a gun in New York or Chicago.

Like that would stop politicians from having their campaign staff make little huts to convert illegals into voting numbers? Please, Voter fraud is a standard tactic in so many elections its not even funny.

Actually here its not. Perhaps where you're from, outside our borders it is.
In the US it is statistically 0. A dozen cases maybe out of millions of votes cast. Now "voter disenfranchisment" is another story all together.
.......
Clearly if we allowed more people to legally apply then far more would come . The US is already at its quota limit for many countries like mexico. That is why they say the line would take 10 plus years, there is a line and it is full.

whats mindblowing is the ignorance in this thread. everybody always points to Hispanics as the illegal alien who is ruining this country, when in actuality, they are what makes this country what it is.. thank "Julio folio" for your tomato that you pick up for 99cents a lb. he is working under slave conditions and paid nearly nothing while his daughters are raped or sold and wife worked to death as well, meanwhile they are locked into a shack at night that they call home. THis is going on in our US soil, yes slave farms that are hidden throughout the US. If anyone was paid a decent wage under standard working conditions, you would be paying probably $5 or more for that same lb of tomatoes. there is so much more that I can go on about that is factual. 2ndly everybody always points the finger at the hardworking Hispanics and disregards the fact that the largest number of undocumented immigrants are Asian, many more are of other ethnicity. Of course im just looking past the subliminal message that the term "illegal alien" embeds into the minds of americans, dehumanizing the human being and making a commodity of a people as they are used and abused for their labor. 3rdly , voter fraud is real in my state of Arizona. with the election of Maricopa county sherrif, a very large number of the Hispanic vote was conveniently not counted and joe arpaio was named winner when the count wasn't even finished. I simply just scratched the surface in this reply, but I don't really care to further discuss this, so please don't reply to my post, if you have something to say just don't quoted me. I will leave you with this, the US department of immigration concluded that US citizens are far more likely to commit a crime than an undocumented immigrant is.

Whats really mindblowing is that NO one ever confronts the 800lb. gorilla in the room, which is mexicos utter failure as a country to provide for its people. I don't blame the illegals one bit. If I lived in that shithole of a country, I'd be outta there too. Everything posted here is true. If u don't want a reply, then don't post! BTW I grow my own tomatoes.

This is something I am very much aware of and did not address in the thread because I would just get shouted down.

I have read the same thing from multiple sources but crime is not what most Americans are concerned with.
I believe the more conservative voices in this thread are against foreigners coming here and
1) taking American jobs & lowering the standard of living for Americans by working for less
2) collecting benefits when our country is already in massive debt and taxes are already high. This is a very real thing, just look at the city of LA.

What's interesting is that you are the first one in this thread to single out Hispanics...
And while I do have some sympathy for how undocumented workers are treated (regardless of nationality), I also realize that they are still making the choice to come here and work in such conditions. They are free to go home at any time and unfortunately we end up paying for that ticket too. But if that means we get US workers back into the mix and my tomatoes, to use your example, go up 30 cents, then so be it. At least I would feel good about that kind of price increase.
But back to the original topic, I still can't figure out who in their right mind would get a license if they are here illegally.

Haha...this right here is exactly my thoughts. It basically seems like a huge illegal immigrant registry if you ask me. Maybe this is all part of a master plan?

Do you have some stats to back this up? Because the last time I checked, we shared a fairly porous land border with Mexico, and its citizens can simply walk across that border. On the flip side, the financial cost and effort it takes to board a plane and successfully enter the U.S. illegally - through U.S. Customs - is fairly difficult.
Not to mention the fact that there's a reason why Spanish has historically been taught in the CBP academy, for everyone.
I don't think anyone is picking on Hispanics, but it is what it is.
I spent 3 years as an Immigration Inspector (when that agency existed, pre-9/11). And in my experience, 90% of the people entering the U.S. were Hispanics, mostly from Mexico, but with fair numbers from El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. A distant second place were people from impoverished African countries like Nigeria, usually via some kind of visa fraud (student visas were a common scam). Then it was usually India, Pakistan, Bandladesh, etc.
The illegal immigration problem has been going on since the 70's and, other than increased numbers, has barely changed.
The reason it's still the issue it is today is because politics won't allow those tasked with enforcing the law enforce it. The whole problem can be understood by looking just at interior (non-border) enforcement. It usually works like this: Immigration does a bunch of worksite enforcement ops, or "raids" on places employing illegals. Mostly places like meat-packing plants, big agricultural operations and the like. We'd round them up and send them back the same day, usually via a chartered flight to some place like El Paso, from whence they'd be bused back into Mexico.
The corporate bigwigs at Hormel or whomever our target was would complain to their political buddies, who would lean on the INS to curb the raids, which we did. Things would be quiet for a few months, we'd try to round up some more with limited success, and the political backlash would halt operations again. That ebb and flow has been going on forever.
Moreover, those same corporate bigwigs and the political juice they have is also the reason why the vast majority of companies are never fined or prosecuted for employing illegals to begin with (like they're supposed to be). And an illegal is not afraid to go and apply for a driver's license because he knows that the government doesn't have the resources to go and detain ONE guy at the local DMV. That's the same reason why, in certain parts of the country, illegals aren't afraid to queue up every morning looking for day labor in the Home Depot parking lot or at every other 7-11 in Northern Virginia.
It's not Obama who's to blame. It's special interest groups (left-leaning) and the employers of illegals with their deep pockets (mostly conservative). More specific (but less far-reaching) than that, Reagan gave amnesty to millions of illegals in the 80's, as did Clinton in the 90's. In defense of the special interests - though somewhat misguided and usually utterly unrealistic - at least they care about these people. The corporate agenda is all about profit.
Until Americans become less divided over what should be done or how the issue should be tackled, it'll continue to be a problem. But blaming whomever happens to be in office at the present time is short-sighted, to say the least.
As far as Americans being more likely to commit crime than illegals - IF that's even correct (and I kinda doubt it) - you'd need to take that into the context of 10-20 million illegals living in the U.S. versus 300 million U.S. citizens. When you compound that with the fact that most illegals are working illegally and not paying taxes, not to mention committing welfare fraud or identity theft, I don't see where idea of USC's being more likely to commit crimes comes from. That's not even counting the number of illegals who are bringing drugs into the U.S., who are MS-13 affiliated, involved in human trafficking, etc.

years ago in Oregon if you went to the DMV expect to be there for 3-4 hours just to get upto the counter. i got kicked out one time for yelling at the workers because the hispanic lady next to me trying to get her liscence couldnt speak english and had her 8 year old kid translating for her. the DMV worker asked "does she have a green card or social security card?" kid replied "no", DMV worker "ok thats fine just sign here and we will get her liscence ready". i blew up and got kicked out.
2 years ago i think it was, Oregon changed their regulations on what info was needed to get a liscence, now you have to have your orignal US birth certificate (not a copy), and some other stuff. now you can just walk in and go right to the counter, or maybe have to wait behind 1 or 2 people.

Are you equating Hispanics who cross the borders (happily) illegally under their own power at their own will to the black slaves, who were dragged and shackled against their will from their homes elsewhere and shipped to a foreign land to become obedient work servants??
Hey, don't mess with the Asians! Without us, your wives and girlfriends will be paying a good penny for those pedicures and polished nails!!!!! You guys are freaking ingrates!! These are much more important than those damn tomatoes!
