This has been talked about in California also by Jeff Stone.

So in a nut shell, the south is sick of supporting the large welfare county's, also the gun debate was a hot topic with Stone also.

We should split all of them--let the libs have their states, the conservatives theirs. After a few years of liberal huge government, entitlement programs, and idiotic "spending to reduce the deficit" actions, the liberal states will be bankrupt--then the conservatives can absorb them back in, and we can get back to being a great country once again!

I live in Weld county and although becoming a new state would be somewhat exciting I also find it pretty difficult to weigh the pros and cons of the proposed split. Sure it probably won't happen but as a registered independent with a slight lean to the right I often find myself stepping back and thinking this old swing state is really tearing itself apart. I enjoyed when Coloradans could coexist as statesman with the liberals in their counties and conservatives in theirs offering a much more diversified state as a whole. It's a shame to see this state of extremes becoming so flattened by overreaching city policies.

I remember the first time coming to Colorado. The West side is all about just good old simple easy going values and life style. I loved it!.

The first time I went to Bolder I was thinking WTF are those people. It is a strange town for sure but beautiful non the less.

I hate to see Colorado so decided because it is a beautiful place. With the type of environment the state has I'm still puzzled how it became so far to the left in some places.

I think most will tell you that California transplants made the transition possible. This Florida transplant is going to try to help balance that out.

Well that might be correct. My family all moved out of CA and went to Colorado. I hate to say it but they are pretty far to the left. Needless to say there are things we do not talk about. Guns being one of them.

The margins in various districts are pretty close though. We slipped to the left about 10 years ago, but everything is still pretty close to parity. We will see what happens after this amusing string of scandals, recalls, and general overall jackassery
