watches...

I've been ambling around looking for another watch, one preferably with tritium tubes for nighttime visibility. Personally, I think 99% of the watch styles out there range from bad to hideous, and I keep coming back to this one:

The price is a tad out of control, and I have read about durability issues with luminox. If I'm going to spend $$ on a product that I use everyday, thats fine, but it better hold up to the standards they advertise, and reputation is key.

Not sure if anyone has come across a similar looking watch from a different manufacturer, but I figured it was worth some off topic ramblings....

I am partial to Citizen Watches and Casio Tough Solar Atomic Watches myself but here is a great company if you want Tritium tubes (T100 not crap T20) and automatic not quartz with hassle of battery. Buy this and get you a band. Here is the link Home so enjoy!

well considering its 2013, I don't usually wear a watch, I use my cellphone for the time. but when I do wear a watch, its either for outdoor activity(hunting/camping etc) in which I wear some sort of survival waterproof etc etc watch which I don't know what brand it is. or, its for lookin GQ flashy and I will wear my 14k gold Geneva watch which I love because its worth double what I paid for it 15 years ago right now with the price of gold.

Luminox watches are pretty nice. I've contemplated getting one.

Take a look at Ball watches. They're high quality with Swiss automatic movements, and have the tritium tubes.

I have a reactor watch.

Reactor Watches Featuring Never Dark

A little pricey but one of the most durable and well built watches I've ever worn. It's been balls deep into train engines, coated in oil, fuel, blood, sweat, saltwater, grease, paint, etc... It cleans right up and keeps on ticking with zero scratches so far on the face.

I bought a Tissot T-Touch a year ago and I love it. It's a perfect combination of everything.

I've been rocking my Nixon Tide Rover SS for 9 years now. Replaced the battery once.

I agree though, I'm not a fan of a lot of the new watch styles. Even the new Tide Rover SS (II) looks stupid IMO.

Yeah, it is really tough to beat Casio Solar G-shock watches. Even with my cell phone, i alway look at my watch for time! Benchmark knife in my pocket. For gun range, i have a Seiko Kinetic SKJ076...a fabulous kinetic watch where the whole dial face glows in the dark. So, although not tritium, because the whole face glows, even in the early morning, you can tell time easily! Unfortunately, Seiko does not make it anymore. I found a brand new one several years ago in a small Asian watch store. It is over 14 years old...and running about +10 seconds/month. For non-gun-range, i wear an automatic watch.

haha yeah I know what you mean. Although anyone with med training knows how essential it is to have an accurate timepiece on you 24/7. Just one of those things I wont go without.

Thanks for the input guys, its back to the drawing board for me. 1engineer, those deep blue watches are awesome. I didnt think I would be able to find an automatic watch sub $1k. Also learned about Traser watches, which apparently is an offshoot company of a firm that produces tritium hardware. not bad!

If you are thinking of a deep blue, don't hesitate. Very good watches. You don't have to go Swiss auto for a good automatic engine. Lower cost seiko or Miyota (owned by citizen) are very good movements.

Omega- I feel every man should own at least one good watch. This is the one for me. Clean and simple but says so much.
