The mod (battery pack on the bottom) provides electricity to a coil that is fed fluid through a wick. When the coil is energized it burns the fluid creating a vapor. You smoke this instead of cigarettes. The fluids come in hundreds of flavors and some are quite tasty! I used to smoke about a pack a day since I was... Well... Too young. Since I started vaping 3 weeks ago I have smoked less than a few packs of cigarettes and have now been cigarette free for 5 days.
The contents of the juice you put in the tanks are not harmful and you choose your level of nicotine in these juices. Vaping has become a good source to stop smoking because of the two types of addictions to cigarettes. The first type of addiction is the addiction to the nicotine. Because you choose your level of nicotine, this solves the first type of addiction. The second type of addiction is the addiction to the habit of actually smoking a cigarette. Well, the form of vaping is similar to smoking cigarettes so this also checks that block too.
Anyways, I just wanted to see who else is doing this and what your results are to stop smoking, what setups are you using and what flavors do you like?
Here's my setup: vamo mod with a protank kanger tank. I'm vaping a blueberry juice and swapping between blueberry and Mountain Dew.

A couple of mine friends have been using this to quit smoking. They are off and on with cigarettes. We named them "Nicadildos" for obvious reasons. I quit smoking in July of 2011. Cold turkey.

iTaste MVP
I marked 3 weeks with no cigarettes yesterday. I'm using the iTaste MVP variable voltage box mod with KangerTech Protanks and TS3's. Using an RY4 flavor mostly from a local shop, Mountain Oak Vapor, as well as several other of their flavors. Really enjoying this!
I rarely have an urge for a traditional cig, and even when I do, it isn't strong. mixing strengths to step down on nic slowly. Goal is to get to lowest level and continue there for a while. I really enjoy this habit, and am glad I found a way to keep it, and not batter my lungs.
Keep it up! Vape on! Vape anywhere!

Unfortunately, it isn't as easy for most of us. I know a lot of people who quit cold turkey, but I could never do it. Maybe it is a self discipline issue of sorts, but that's not an issue across the board for me.
Good for those who can go cold turkey, all the more power to them!

I smoked for a few years. I was real bad when I deployed overseas since non-American cigarettes were $8 a carton. Over the past year I tried quitting on and off cold turkey. I would pick it back up for short periods at a time and stop again. I tried vaping and didn't like it. I thought it was cool at first, but had a hard time achieving a buzz from it. Either way I ended up quitting cold turkey because my current job doesn't allow cigarette breaks so yeah. It's been about 4 months now. I'd say I've smoked a few cigarettes every so often after work, but it's gotten to the point where my cigarette appetite has been lost. So when I crave and actually smoke I can only have half a cigarette. I currently don't have a pack in my house anymore, and haven't had one in about 3 weeks

How you doing on no smoking? I just hit my 3 week mark today without having a cigarette... Kinda. I took a few drags off of a cigarette a couple weeks ago. Last week I smoked one of my favorite cigars to celebrate 2 weeks of being pretty much smoke free.

I've been vaping for the past 2 years now. I love it. As we speak, I'm having my morning coffee and vape. Currently vaping on my K101. I've also got an ago-c upgrade for something to puff on without having to refill every 7 drops.
I was just at ECC (Electronic Cigarette Convention) on Friday. Jeez it was great. Met so many new vendors and got to try quite a variety of flavors. They even had a stand there called "Ganja Juice". Made me laugh haha!
My only true "mod" is my K101. I have the IGO-w rebuild-able on it with a high-resistance stone drip tip. Puffing on Grape Drape 6mg.
Also using my eGo-c with a Vape Only tank and a swivel drip tip. Puffing on EZ Duz It on ice. (On Ice means its menthol)
My top 5 favorite juice vendors would have to be:
1. Ruthless
2. VAPELYFE
3. P.O.E.T.
4. Halcyon
5. Ben Johnson's Awesome Sauce
My good friend is actually making his own flavors right now. Working on getting the nicotine levels perfect until he releases them to the public. As soon as he comes out with a menu, ill post it on here for anybody who may be interested. I have to rebuild my K101 right now. Probably the 3rd time ive had to do so in the past week. Gotta get that ULTIMATE VAPE!!
If anybody has any questions about e-cigs or vaping in general, hit me up. I'm sure i'll be able to answer all your questions! Have fun vaping and staying clean my dudes!

I think I've finally hit the point where I no longer have the appetite for smoking. I quit cold turkey back in late May, and have since only smoked two cigarettes in July. One night I had to drive for a few hours, and decided to buy a pack. I ended up only smoking two and threw the rest away. Haven't smoked since.

Nice to see you people quitting, I quit in Jan but relapsed a week ago and have to start all over again. Some people, like Dark Lord ^ can have a couple and stop but for some it's a bit¢h all over again. I finally understand that 1 smoke is like that 1 drink for anyone in recovery. My advice to everyone is once you stop don't ever smoke one again.

Yeah I'm a rare case. Everyone I know who smokes could never relapse and quit again easily. I on the other hand for some reason don't have that problem, but I smoked because I like smoking. I still do, but I don't for health reasons.
I believe a lot of my smoking habits were a direct result of work environment. If I'm at a job where a lot of people smoke ( e.g. the Marine Corps) it's hard to quit. I just happen to be in an occupation right now where nobody smokes, and we aren't allowed to smoke at work so yeah... I used to smoke when I got home from work, but phased that out. If I were in a different situation who knows.

It's kind of funny to see this on here. I work for a brokerage firm and one of the manufacturers I represent is Logic electronic cigarettes here in the North East. These "E Cigs" are taking off. Buy Logic and help fund my modding!!

Happy to fund your mods cbielat but not this way. I'm all for people quitting smoking and if vape helps, great. The downside is the advertising promoting how cool it is which brings non-smokers in to the nicotine addition. Nicotine has plenty of negative health issues alone.

You can buy juices with zero nicotine added to the mix. The idea is to buy a juice with the proper amount of nicotine to get you away from cigarettes and then slowly back down on the nicotine percentage. The juices (the good ones) are made from natural oils so they aren't bad for you... Or at least not proven to be bad. But, even if you stick with a high nicotine percentage it's still better than all the other junk that's added in the cigarettes.
Btw: I'm happy to report than I am now 4 weeks free of smoking.

Good to know, I (obviously) had no idea. Congrats on 4 weeks, the "experts" say week 3 is the tough one and after that you're free of the addiction and just need to deal with the habit part.
Strictly to help you stay quit: I'm an old guy and smoked 40+ years and have to deal with lung issues which isn't any fun. Breathing is pretty freakin' important!
Everybody keep up the effort, you won't regret it!
