I wish I had done this a long time ago! The benefits are awesome! When I run, my point of exhaustion is no longer in my lungs. I feel like I can run all day and my legs get tired way before my breathing becomes an issue. I have taken 2-3 minutes off of my 2 mile run time. Food has a whole new taste. I'm able to enjoy foods that I never have enjoyed before. Since I have quit smoking I have changed the way I eat (thanks to
@ Footofgod
) and am eating mostly a paleo menu. I'm running at least 2 miles daily, most times I run 4 miles. If anyone is familiar with the incline in manitou springs, co., I'm hiking that tomorrow and the goal is sub 50 minutes. I'm also hiking pikes peak next weekend which is a 14 mile hike to 14,000 feet. All of this motivation came from quitting smoking and each time I get better or faster at something the motivation increases!

Logic has different levels of a nicotine dose depending on which one you purchase. One of them doesn't even have any in it. I'm not an advocate for smoking either, but when it pays the bills, I cannot complain. I'm not making one choose to smoke.

Props to you guys who are getting off the cigs! I never really liked smoking tobacco, so it was never an issue for me, just left me with a sore throat the next morning. So many of the negatives are no longer present when doing things this way, nice middle ground.

I've seen various people at work use these to quit smoking.
Same with the e-cigs that look like cigs.
The people with the vape pens use them more than I used to see them smoke.
The people with e-cigs have now for the most part cut out of both.
My small sample size would lead me to the belief that if you really wanted to quit smoking that the e-cigs might be more effective than these overly fancy vape pens. YMMV.
Still, I heard the absolute best way to stop smoking is to not put a cigarette in your mouth and light it.

i tried those e cig things, they sucked at least the ones that look like a cig, i always went right back to real ones after a week, but i tried a buddy's vapor last week, world of difference. he tells me it turns into a hobby, which is a better hobby than smoking anti freeze on the daily.

Exactly. The vape pens turn into a hobby rather than a stop smoking aid.
Just a casual observation. Take from it what you will.

I smoked for 5 years. For a big part of it I smoked Marb Red's.
I love smoking - love it! I'll start again when I'm 80.
Did I mention I love it? The negatives are just too great .... your endurance sucks, your clothes stink .... YOU stink ..... it's expensive..... it just started piling up and eventually I decided I'd rather be smoke free. I quit. No gimmicks... just quit.
I'm not sure this would have appealed to me if it had been available..... I'd feel like I was "smoking juice" or something ... just seems funny - although what the hell do I know - maybe I would have found it delicious? I'm tobacco free now - so no point.
My viewpoint on the other "quit smoking aids" like wellebutrin and chantix is also a controversial one (I hope this does not offend anyone) - I 100% believe that "aids" like that only exist for one reason: It's so that the smoker has something to blame other than him/herself when they fail to quit. It's part of the reason why I never used one of them.

I have a 'fifty-one' duo e-cig I bought about 3 years ago to help me kick the habit. I used it for a while, but still craved cigarettes. I finally quit cold turkey about 6 months ago and haven't looked back. I am now repulsively disgusted by cigarettes, and I never see myself smoking ever again. I just kinda brainwashed myself into feeling sick and disgusted every time I thought about wanting to smoke. I made sure those feelings of disgust became stronger than the desire to smoke, and for me it works. I kept telling myself and everyone else I don't smoke. I also like being able to breathe easy and save my money for other things. You just have to reinforce the positive aspects of being a non smoker. No stinky clothes or car, no trying to work a schedule around when I want my next smoke, no more bothering others with my smoke...

Medications to aid in quitting ONLY work if your mind is determined to quit. If you are not committed mentally, then these medications will not work...just a waste of money.

I tried vaping a few year ago thinking it would be a good way to quit smoking.
It didn't work for me. It is too much like smoking with the hand to mouth oral thing. It just didn't feel the same as a real cigarette.
My wife and I both quit smoking using the patch. We had our last cigarettes on Sept. 8.
I can still hang out with my smoking friends and it doesn't bother me since my mind is made up. I don't want to be one of those vindictive ex-smoker basturds that has to give anyone a hard time for smoking.
Besides, I should be the Forum Poster Boy since I have chronic asthma and COPD from 35 years of smoking.
Give it up while you are young and still healthy!!!
I used to think I was Bullet Proof but as I got in to my fifties I noticed every time I got bronchitis I lost a bit of ground.
I'm not on O2 but probably would be in another couple years if I hadn't quit.
