Anyone ever worked an email help desk?
I emailed a small company with a technical question about a product category (not their product) which they were kind enough to answer.

I do this kind of thing fairly frequently and have always wondered whether the help desk person appreciates a two word "thank you" reply or would prefer one less email to read.

Most folks that work any sort of tech support or help desk spend a lot of their time getting *****ed at by angry customers/co-workers. A simple thank you is very much appreciated.
