In memory of those lost and those who have lost

Remember to take a moment of silence for the thousands of lives lost between September 11 2001 and now.

Remember to keep ur headlights on today to remind others that you haven't forgotten that day. I still see a lot of headlights on, but not as many as I used to. Never Forget, Never Forgive

Being only an hour out of NYC, obviously the toll of 9/11 was incredibly high. Many people that perished live in suburban areas, and take mass transit to work.

When I got home from work that sunny afternoon...I really had no idea what to do. The stories and rumors, as you can imagine, were beyond comprehension.

They were calling for body bags from everywhere, all the fire departments were calling for men and supplies, everything for the most part was shut down.

For some reason, today seems harder than the other years.

The personal stories of sacrifice and loss are as painful today as they were 12 years ago...maybe because of Benghazi and Syria are so fresh and real....maybe because my daughter is serving at Bagram, and the enemy has it's sights on my family. I don't why.....but the sting seems so intense.

The only thing I felt I could do back then, is the same thing I feel I need to do today...believe in you..believe in me....and believe in the USA...

God Bless America..

I was in my 10th grade history class. I saw the news and our whole class stopped as we watched the news. School was let out early and I spent the day with my family. In 2003 I joined the army and since then I have been over seas more times than I care to count nd have spent many 9/11's in Afghanistan. Every year it is as real as the last.

Being in NYC when it happened 12 years ago is an experience I will never forget and something I hope to never have to experience ever again. I went to ground zero one night after things had settled down and I have to say that standing there in person was truly a surreal experience. There is no way to describe how you feel while trying to absorb all of it up close and in real life. Something that I will remember for a long time to come.
