Any dating tips?
I know strange question but is there anything anyone can offer me as far as dating goes? I've been out of the game now for about 2 years. Yes I know I had a girlfriend while I was on deployment but I don't count that one for personal reasons.....I have questions like, How do you first approch a woman, talking, what to do and what not to do, you know general stuff. I'm hoping that whatever advice I receive here will also help out anyone else in my situation.
I know I'm in the military and it's tough to have a relationship as is, but like I've said I haven't had a steady girlfriend since highschool and it defiantly is different being in the real world now. I humbly ask who has the best dating tips. I DON'T WANNA DIE SINGLE DAMMNIT!

I see a lot of bad advice coming... My best suggestion is to find a friend or two with game and let them wingman for you. I used to do it for a buddy because he was really shy and once I'd get some momentum going conversation wise, I'd back off and let him try and do his thing. Going out in groups helps too. Take 2 bros and look for a trio of broads. Chances are at least one will be single and if you've got good wingmen, they'll bow out by saying they're involved etc to help your chances with the single girl. Believe it or not, women do the same thing. One gets dumped and her involved friend will take her out to get her back in the game.
MOST IMPORTANT: Nice guys always lose. It's true. If you're really just looking for a hook-up and nothing long term, those chicks dig *******s.
Oh, more words to live by: A 2 at 10:00 is a 10 at 02:00.

Yeah that's what I figures I feel the flames growing just posting here. Haha. That is some rather good advice.

Hey dude. It was good meeting you at the meet up last weekend.
This may be a bit of a tangent .
Hmmmm ... advice on where to meet girls. If you are 21 then go to PB and be sure to go to the bars farther east down Garnet than PB Bar & Grill since that's where all the navy bros go.
OK here is the advice I wish I had know at 21/22.
ASSUMING you have BAH then ... (And if you don't then its time to make 2nd class bro)
Go and live in a house or apt in PB or somewhere cool with bars.
* pb
* mission beach
* Adams ave area
* park ave
* north park
* south park
Here is the key: once I got BAH I moved into an apt with a good buddy from the ship. 2 other buddies lived in same complex. Every Friday & sat night was a navy night. This was no good.
Solution: use CL to find a house with other college students that have an open room for rent, not a room for you and a buddy or 2 rooms but just you. The point is to break out of the navy only social circle. Finding a room for $500-$800 should be easy. I have had multiple roommates this way. Never sign a lease, always month to month but say you hate moving.
Once I got out a few years later I finally was brave enough to look for a room in SD just using CL. By then I was in college at Mesa community college and wanted to live with college students. It was SOOo easy to find a room in house with 3 or 4 other students. That is really the key to meeting girls in my opinion, at least here in San Diego.
So in summary: try to live in a house with other college students (state, community whatever)
Since a lot of SD girls REALLY don't want to date guys in navy I suggest you enroll in night school at mesa (where there are tons & tons of girls) and start working on your general Ed. At least then you can say you are a student when you do meet a girl.
Btw Mesa is near free for active duty. You don't have to use the GI bill. The classes are super cheap and you would only need to take 1 night class at a time anyways. Talk to the vets at the vet center or call me. Lastly don't believe that online college crap (national, phoniex etc) - go to a real local college so you can transfer to any college you want even yrs later.

I was gonna mention that but I wasn't trying to bust balls. I get stereotyped as military because of my hair and tattoos and Hampton Roads is a HUGE navy area. When I first moved here and girls would ask if I was in, I thought I'd be disappointing them by saying no but I quickly found out that they were looking for a "no" response. I've had girls lie about being in the navy themselves because apparently local guys don't want to date navy chicks. I think she said she worked at a bank or something but I saw her cell was on military time and that was the give away. LMAO. Not sure how SD is but that's how it is here.

Wow that is like the total opposite of my view. If I wouldn't give a girl time of day at 10pm I sure as hell wouldn't try to take her home later on in the night.
Low standards equal more partners, more partners equal STD risk.
I'm not saying save it for marriage but damnnn dude. At least some standards are needed if you respect yourself.
Unless you were joking ... But well you get my point.

Eh..... I guess technically by increasing the number of people you've slept with your chances go up, but, that can be easily mitigated by a number of ways.

I have been out of the dating thing for a while as well but the best advice I can give is to not go out and look for girls. This may seem like bad advice but what I mean by it is to stay away from the bars and clubs with the intent of looking for a girlfriend. Go out and enjoy your life. Get involved with groups doing what you enjoy and you'll find someone that you mesh well with. She won't care if you're in the navy and you won't have to worry about what to say to her because you'll already have a common ground to talk about.
If all you're trying to do is go and lay some pipe then ignore everything above and do the exact opposite of what I suggested.

Honestly? Great advice from a young man. A very mature response/advice.

You're young, don't sweat it. Keep yourself active and healthy and be sure to have fun on the weekends. Be social. Being single at that age is different than even a few years older- you're still a youngin' to most women. Don't settle for a girl.
