Kinda sad...but true. They want me to organize a project for our school site. Other school sites are doing e-pals...basically like penpals via e-mail. Another site is watching an egg hatch in Ohio and writing about the progress of the egg (sounds lame and boring to me). My boss does not want to 'copy' other projects.
I need help with ideas that kids could use a computer for a project throughout the school year. They have to learn while gaining experience with computers.
Thanks for any ideas.

i would say computer program but i don't think elementary kids are through those basics yet. in high school, i learned to program games and created my own games. basically if then or true/false statement. but i think for elementary kids, you could teach them about websites. you could teach kids how to edit photos. if you have photoshop, you could cut pictures and paste them into another landscape. hope these help. if you need more ideas, i'm pretty good with computers so let me know.
