I agree on the HT treatments that are available now. You can only harvest so many follicles. PLUS, you leave a gaping line behind your head. There was an experimental procedure that "grew" your own hair follicles in a lab, thus creating an "infinite" supply for you. Of course, this sounded expensive. Not sure what came of it. If I were serious about HT, this would be the route I would go.

MY GARAGE
Been balding since my late 20s; here are a few lessons & observations since:

- Best decision I ever made was to buzz it all off & own it. It taught me that women who are worth having were more interested in what was in my heart, not on my head. Confidence, respect, integrity, & a sense of humor took me way farther than nice hair ever did. The attitude change of accepting it also removed a massive source of stress from my life.

- Focus on what you can control. For example, you may have to be bald but you don't have to be overweight too. I finally got my act together and lost 50+ pounds over the last couple of years.

- Be cautious about the meds. They’ve been around a while but are there independent, long-term studies on potential side effects resulting from prolonged use?

- About surgical options, seems to me bald guys with tons of cash (celebrities, athletes, et.al.) would be all over it if it worked. Maybe some are and it’s that good. But given the cost & uncertain results, I just keep circling back to my first point above.

- The fact that baldness is fair game for jokes & comments people wouldn’t dream of making about other physical attributes is BS, as is paying most barbers the same for a cut as Clooney-hair dude does (I buzz it myself but like an occasional barber job with the neck shave & hot towel). But hey, those are first-world problems I can live with.
