How can I burn a DVD from a DVR?

I have a program on my DVR previously recorded that I would like to burn to a DVD. Can someone tell me how its done? I see several solutions for burning live programs from DVR to a DVD but not ones already recorded.
Thanks in advance!

You might start by telling us what make and model DVR you have.

You will most likely have to "capture" and then re-compress the video again as DVRs generally aren't going to have a way to access the digital source video. The easiest solution is to buy a DVD recorder (~$75 on Amazon) and hook it up with RCA cables and just copy between them. You still might run into copy protection issues though depending on your source video.

I have a good quality Sony DVD recorder so I may have to experiment with mine as there is a few programs I'd like to have aphysical copy of.

Does your model have a USB port in front? I've been able to copy onto a flash drive, then load onto my computer. Then I can burn that file to a disc. It loses a bit of quality, but nothing too bad.
