Tesla Shares

I know electric has been discussed before but now it's more realistic that Tesla is helping every manufacturer out: CEO Elon Musk opens up Tesla's patents to all

Give it time, the technology will lessen on cost and make its way down to SUVs and quads.

That was a very cool move by Tesla, apparently sense this happen the shares have jump 10 percent.

Nikola Tesla would be very proud right now! From a man that always thought his inventions should be free for everyone to enjoy, this current company has done him proud. Truly an amazing man Nikola was. It's a shame how in school I was taught so much about Edison and never Tesla, only to find out later in life that Edison was an absolute monster! And quite honestly we owe our modern day power lines and electrical long distance travel to Tesla! My new favorite inventor of all times.

Just be clear they didn't open source or open up all of Tesla's patents for use by other manufacturers.

They are only opening up the charging system technology in the hopes that other manufacturers will choose to copy Tesla's fast charging technology because that will help spread the charging stations out much faster.

That and probably getting ahead of a future lawsuit by burgeoning electric vehicle companies that Tesla has a Monopoly on the market. Its actually really smart of them to release some of their patents to create competition for use as a defense later down the road.

Maybe just maybe they released their electric car patents in the hope a couple major car companies take up the technology which requires batteries that tesla still holds the patent on. Thus insuring the profitable future in this ever growing technology.
