Typically for giggles and keeping a rough idea of stuff, I'll watch Colbert or Jon Stewart. They're unfortunately typically more accurate than most of the mainstream news media, not to mention they tend not to be too biased (but they do tend to lean democratic at times) as they're just making fun of who ever they can at the time.
That being said, both tend to be a bit more preachy and short sighted in regards to certain issues such as gun control; one of the few topics where you can really see them trying to take a "stand." But mostly their out to just make commentary on the crap that's happening in the world, most of their stuff is fairly accurate, but again they also suffer from bias in some situations. They tend to make fun of the Republicans more than anyone, but they'll trash on Democrats just as easily; it just so happens they get plenty of material from the right. I will say they have a bone to pick with Fox and its always hilarious, I even watched Fox a few times to see what the fuss was and I can honestly say that they aren't even making an effort to make Fox News look incompetent! Almost all the work is done for them.
But all news media is inherently biased and inaccurate, so if I find something interesting and/or not feeling right I'll go cross reference it with international news sources such as the BBC(CNN is not at all that reliable, particularly if you've lost a plane... lol ) and so on, but most new sources based in relatively free countries that are not the US tend to be less tainted. They still have their own issues though like the Egyptian version of the Daily Show being pressured by the new Egyptian government.
In the end its all biased, twisted, and edited to present facts in a certain editorial manner. There really isn't a real mainstream news source that isn't marred by this; granted some networks such as Fox News and MSNBC should just admit that they're not news shows but some sort of weird alternative comedy show about very very mentally damaged individuals at news desks.
Something I thought was funny:

But in the end, American News is highly controlled and regulated by its benefactors. There isn't a single mainstream news source in the US that I am aware of that is not tainted by some corporate, political, or personal motivation/ideals
