News Source

I'm always curious where people get there news information from. Especially progressives, libs, and dems.

I personally listen to Mark Levin and think he speaks the complete truth with facts and an underlying true constitutional view. His constitutional
References And ties are largely important for me. I think sticking to the basics that made America so great for so long are hugely important. Especially since we are a constitutional republic.

He promotes the MRC and CNS news which i also enjoy. I firmly believe there is no greater truth out there than Levin. I actually challenge someone to prove me wrong. Im objective enough to just want to hear the truth. So someone please point me somewhere else.

On TV I'm not thrilled with anyone but as an objective person I flip between,Fox, and msnbc. I struggle to connect with rachel maddow as she is so hell bent on going against the right that she just isn't objective or report facts, she is a propaganda machine. All MSM outlets IMO are horrible. Fox promoted big gov RINOS, CNN is all over the map, MSNBC is pure propaganda.

I would love for "Journalists" to actually be Journalists.

I like to listen to the Wall Street Journal Podcast everyday, I think they do a good job of presenting and discussing the news with a slight tongue in cheek slant towards the right.

Mark Levin??? When I first stumbled upon his show while flipping around one day, I literally thought it was a joke. A comedy. When I came to understand that he actually meant the trash that came out of his face, I could only say a quick prayer that nobody was actually listening to his garbage. A truly demented individual.

My friend, there is no such thing as truth unless you personally witnessed it. Even when you do, that's just your version of the truth. If you want to depend on someone else to determine what is actually going on then read both sides, left and right. The "truth" is somewhere in the middle every time. I don't ever listen to the news as I prefer to read as it is harder to spin in print. Oh, and everybody spins it.

Rush, Beck, Berry. These men are entertainers that I like to listen to, however when a topic comes up that catches my attention I just research it on line. We have so much information at our finger tips it's lame to just watch or listen to the news and take it for face value. My tv mainly stays on fox. I like "the five"

Typically for giggles and keeping a rough idea of stuff, I'll watch Colbert or Jon Stewart. They're unfortunately typically more accurate than most of the mainstream news media, not to mention they tend not to be too biased (but they do tend to lean democratic at times) as they're just making fun of who ever they can at the time.

That being said, both tend to be a bit more preachy and short sighted in regards to certain issues such as gun control; one of the few topics where you can really see them trying to take a "stand." But mostly their out to just make commentary on the crap that's happening in the world, most of their stuff is fairly accurate, but again they also suffer from bias in some situations. They tend to make fun of the Republicans more than anyone, but they'll trash on Democrats just as easily; it just so happens they get plenty of material from the right. I will say they have a bone to pick with Fox and its always hilarious, I even watched Fox a few times to see what the fuss was and I can honestly say that they aren't even making an effort to make Fox News look incompetent! Almost all the work is done for them.

But all news media is inherently biased and inaccurate, so if I find something interesting and/or not feeling right I'll go cross reference it with international news sources such as the BBC(CNN is not at all that reliable, particularly if you've lost a plane... lol ) and so on, but most new sources based in relatively free countries that are not the US tend to be less tainted. They still have their own issues though like the Egyptian version of the Daily Show being pressured by the new Egyptian government.

In the end its all biased, twisted, and edited to present facts in a certain editorial manner. There really isn't a real mainstream news source that isn't marred by this; granted some networks such as Fox News and MSNBC should just admit that they're not news shows but some sort of weird alternative comedy show about very very mentally damaged individuals at news desks.

Something I thought was funny:
Academics Honor Colbert As Teaching an 'Extended Civics Lesson' About Campaign Finance With His Super PAC | NewsBusters

But in the end, American News is highly controlled and regulated by its benefactors. There isn't a single mainstream news source in the US that I am aware of that is not tainted by some corporate, political, or personal motivation/ideals

I wish my in-laws could read your post. They happily lap up all the news they happen to agree with, then spout it back at anyone who will listen as if it's gospel (unfortunately, to mostly like-minded people). I guess they feel as if this validates their point of view .
