If you were to buy a sports car
Howdy guys,
So my dad is in the market for new toy. He ideally wants a V-8 front engine RWD sports car and has kinda narrowed it now to a e90 BMW M3 or a C6 Z06. What would T4R choose?
Oh yah and here is another twist, he is also likes the NSX
?????????????????????????

My uncle had an NSX. I loved that car. Not really made for a short guy like me (5'6"). I don't know how readily available OEM replacement parts are for the NSX nowadays.
My boss has a GT-R. Gadget filled to the brim. If I had the cash, it would be the car for me. But it is a V6.
I'd take the M3 over the Z06 any day of the week. Much more refinement IMHO. But I would save my pennies for an M5 over both of them.

Yah there are a lot of corvettes out there, but not as many Z06s, and they are much faster than the BMW (dont have to mention the NSX). Also, this is going to be a second car, not a daily driver.

NSX. I wouldn't drive a Vet, not impressed with GM/Chevy build quality. BMWs will cost you what you saved by not buying the NSX in maintenance. As always to each his own
He should drive all 3 of them

if he's got the coin for nsx, definitely that, if not e92 m3, gonna be way better than a corvette, unless he's a 'merica type

If I hit the Powerball for $250 million, I still wouldn't have any of these cars. I would never buy a BMW. Nothing against them but they're not my kind of car. The NSX does nothing for me, I'm not into that kind of car either.
I don't like GM products other than the Musclecars of the 60's/early 70's. But that being said, I am hearing really good things about the new Corvette Z06. It has a nasty motor with a 7 speed stick and reports are that this car can do a high 10 second, low 11 second 1/4 mile right off the showroom floor.
Honestly, none of the 3 are for me. If I was ever going to have a 2 seater sports car, I'd have to go with a 66 Shelby Cobra with a 427.

If you were to buy a sports car
Having just sold an E90 M3 that definitely gets my vote. I've had more than my share of great cars, but that car was without a doubt the best handling and most fun to drive car I've ever driven. I miss the hell out of it everyday.
I sold an M5 to get the M3. The M5 had more power and was faster in a straight line, but the M3 really is the perfect balance. Incredibly fast and so nimble. Way faster around the track than the M5 was and blew the doors off any Vette I ever ran against. Granted it was modified a bit and put over 500hp down at the wheels, but even stock they are nothing short of amazing.

I have an M3 and really like it. Biggest selling point was that it has a backseat that comes in handy when you have a 3rd or 4th.
Crazy good handling car

never a Corvette.
NSX. supercar performance with Honda reliability. Low seating position makes it unpleasant at night with incoming car's headlights. This is especially bothersome to older eyes.
BMW, bc their design and build quality are so consistently superior.
2015 Mustang GT. Finally has independent rear suspension and Ford, under Mulally, got their sh** together and is now building well designed and constructed vehicles, light years ahead of GM and Chrysler.

My advice to your Dad is to buy whichever one he likes best.
I would never base my vehicle purchasing decisions on the opinions of people whom I've never met.
