anyone with a background in this?

Looking for input or if anyone has gone this route or something similar and your thoughts.

Planning on going back to school for anesthesiology either in nursing or certification.
Already have a bachelors of science but it's in politcal science/business.
4 years military and work at a hospital currently but in adminstrative function.

I've been researching programs etc etc etc, but just wanted to see if anyone had done this or a medical path like this after a first degree.

My aunt was an anesthesiologist in Denver, but that was a long time ago. One thing I remember her saying was that she did delivery for a while, but got out of it all or partly due to the fact that she had to carry malpractice for something like 20 years after she stopped working with deliveries. She said there was a very long time frame for law suits. I think she did a lot of ER work, the hours were long. I don't think she ever cooked while she was doing that. I do think she liked it tho.

Look into imaging. Cool technical stuff while having just enough patient care, but not too much lol. Return on investment as far as training goes is pretty good too. I'd definitely do it again. I'm also prior service and this was a second gig for me. While my first military job was also medical, this is completely different.

what do you mean by "certification?"

i assume you are considering crna, mda, and aa.

i'm an icu nurse and got into nursing to do crna. still plan on it soon. don't know much about anesthesia assistants but they seem pretty rare and i imagine could be phased out. i would consider nursing school since it leaves you with so many options (including crna school down the road).
