rotopax gas can

Thinking of ordering a rotopax gas can 2gal. Are they good ? I don't have a rear bumper so I won't be mounting it on the tire carrier. But I have a roof rack and I'd like to put up there since it's a low profile gas can looking. But I'd be putting it sideways, on it's side. Wondering if it's a good idea to have it on a side on a roof. Like I'm worried it would start leaking ? Or are they good quality and it doesn't matter ??

Also, who makes good small shovels/axe ?

Rotopax are great tanks. My buddy has several for his quads and they never leak. They are quite versatile too.

Shovel/Axe The MAX ? An ax, shovel, pick, rake, hoe and more all in one, it accommodates seven tools onto a single polyglass handle multipurpose tool & the Safety Impact Wrench ?

I don't have one, but saw one at a show and seem really nice. I have a regular axe and a razorback shovel.

I'd steer away from the small foldable shovels, they are not sturdy enough for anything more than digging a poop hole.

Yep. I have these things on the back of my daily driver. I recommend them.

I also have the water packs on board as well. They can swap out with the red's on the back no problem.

Oh, and shovels are on the roof.

Oh, and shovels are on the roof.
You think I'd be safe to have them on roof rack laying on a side. ?

Absolutely not a problem...many quads have them mounted that way.

Wow I really like the set up, but I'm assuming you can no longer put the rear window down?

Actually, the window goes down just fine and dandy. It's functionality is not affected at all by this setup. However, I do recommend getting new rear hatch struts. Otherwise, the 4Runner may eat you. You may need something to prop the hatch up while its open.

Had mine on their sides for over 2 years, never a leak.
Only advice is, learn how to open them BEFORE filling them, twist lock seems to be a child lock for newbies.
Yes 2nd Gen but its about cans

Rotopax cans are GREAT! I've had one for a while now hanging off the back of my tire carrier. I think they look a lot better than the scepter military cans.
