Toyota Sequoia, who has one?
Whether or not toyota is bring back the sequoia has not been announced. But toyota did say they are determined to keep a full range of SUVs/trucks. But they can stop making the land cruiser for the U.S. Market. Who wants to buy a 100k toyota?

I have one and it wasn't anywhere near 100k. Go to IH8MUD.com and you'll see how popular they really are, great site.

A platinum Sequoia is a little over 70.
An LC is at 80. 10k difference is well worth a much more capable truck, granted you loose a foll row of seating. I would buy a 100k Toyota over 100k anything else, LC is pure luxury and it will outlast all of the competition, win/win.

2011 Land Cruiser I purchased as a left over on 9/13/2012
Sticker $76,490
Paid $68,918
And like I said earlier, hands down the best vehicle I've had to date. I can't think of one thing that I don't "like" about it. Amazing on road manners with the KDSS, Great in the sand on the beach, great even with the stock tires in the snow, and that 5.7 V8 HAULS ASS, Dam fast for a 6k pound truck. The 3rd row (I removed mine) is plenty big for 2 adults. Heat/AC and the sound system are great as well.

Landcruiser frustrates me. Damn expensive and resale is insane. On paper I can afford one but I would by no means be a cash buyer. I just can't justify that kind of expense on a vehicle and after dropping 50k on my 4Runner I told myself I won't buy new/spend that kind of coin again.
The 2013+ used LC's are beauts... just not prepared to go there. If it's in your wheelhouse I think the LC is an incredible looking vehicle. Keep in mind re-designs are likely very soon for both the Sequoia and LC.

I'm too drunk to taste this chicken so I didn't read the whole thread but I have always had the idea sequoias were for moms and landcruisers were for the dads? I want to get a landcruiser next but like sequoias as well. Is there any basis for my thoughts? Is it the way they market it? I've never seen a commercial for either.

I just picked up an 04' limited about 2 weeks ago. So far I love it. I have 3 kids with a 4th on the way so I needed the extra room. Finding a 4wd version was the hardest part, lots of 2wd's out there.

What options do you wish the SR5 had?
The Mrs and I are probably going to upgrade from 4Runner to Sequoia. I also just read that there is a good chance the 2016 will have a diesel option. I will throw down for that in a heartbeat.
Cheers

Sequoia's are huge,
I'd love to have a new LC and I tried real hard to justify buying a new one and just couldn't bring myself to spend that much money. LC's are the perfect size and will last a life time if you can swing it.

buy an older land cruiser. All the stuff like Navigation and other fancy crap becomes dated over time.
Just make sure you get a land cruiser that isn't champagne exterior paint and beige interior and you are set.
Ideal would be a 2009 Land Cruiser (2008 was 1st year for current generation. Don't ever get 1st year of a new generation of anything!). Hopefully find one that has a dark interior (i.e. Grey, black etc) and you are done. Who cares if it has a dated Nav? You can get a new double DIN deck for pretty cheap these days. Who cares if the alloy wheels are curbed or faded? As long as the engine, driveline + maintenance are good you are golden. Then the mods can start!

I bought a first gen 4runner lol
I used to think that, but with Toyota specifically, I don't think its as big of a concern. I believe it becomes more refined than critical repairs.
I would suggest to get a used 2013 LC over older models for the camera system, side and front cameras is great to have. Just my 2 cents

When we shopped our 4 runner my wife was going gaga over a new white land cruiser on the lot. It was marked down to 72k because it had slight hail and they said all the body panels were replaced so it wouldnt even show up on carfax or the title. She had the salesman in a tizzy because he knew what a killing his bonus would be. Needless to say it was not going to happen.
