I searched around and didn't see anything of the sort on here so I figured why not. If you have done or are planning on doing any thing cool around the house post it up with pics!
A few years a go I turned the roughed in great room above my garage into a man cave. About 2 years ago I convinced my wife to let me move the pool table from up there into the living room of our house. So now that space has been a catch all/ storage room. Now we are slowly starting turn it into a gym / rec room. I was up there the other night and decided to snap a couple pics of the floor I laid. It's a gorgeous golden acacia. Lots of striking reds and oranges through the wood.
About to start some pretty serious projects in the house too. I have some cupboards to build in the laundry room, a small stainless steel topped island to build out of some reclaimed barn wood I have and then the master bathroom is being completely remodeled.
Pics will follow as sh*t gets did.

I hear ya. I assume it was the T&A that caused its demise.
Thanks. I just figure guys on here probably build stuff around the house too and thought a place for projects and ideas or questions to be fielded would be a good thing.

On a separate note
@Inferno1
I love the color despite the haters.
Back to the topic at hand. This could be a cool thread. Lets keep it going.

Bought our house in March, done a few things since then. Painted the entire place, from ceilings to baseboards.
I laid 18" porcelain tile in the kitchen (289 sqft), built an island with pine top, and installed handles on all the cabinets. Also changed out the light and sink/faucet.
Also installed a barn door track with an old door to the pantry, added glass to the door.
Changed the light out and built a table
The rest has just been updating...new tile in bathroom and entry, new vanity in half bath, new light and decor in daughter's bathroom
Next spring is going to be ripping out the back deck and pouring a new concrete pad, and putting a fence up. And whatever else my wife thinks the house needs!
^ Looks awesome man! Really like the island you built. The colors look great too!
We've been in our house for about 8 years now. I should go back and post pics of the before and afters of a bunch of stuff.
Great things about wives, their list never stops growing.......

Cool thread, was wondering if there were any like this on here. I do this kind of stuff for a living, also cabinetry, furniture etc. will be following.
Speaking of wife lists. While I was at work yesterday my wife brought home some new lights for me to install over the kitchen island. Gotta admit they look pretty good. Just had to upgrade the dimmer switch to a 1000 watt bc the old 600 watt wasn't able to handle all these lights. Now I'm good at 840 total watts running through the switch. Whole job took less than 2 hrs. Not bad considering the guy that built the place didn't use legit light boxes and I had to chisel out wood to get the wire down from the ceiling...
