cool - in all my years of riding I've only met a couple folks the have all 50; no one on the same machine.
got a hardcore buddy thats ridden on 4 continents; the same bike on 3 of them still can't claim all 50 states on the same machine.
mine is a fluke and certainly not part of any elaborate globetrotting plan, more happen stance really. I picked up my GSA as a retirement gift and racked up just a hair over 42k in the first 18 months. at that point my wife's assignment came down to Landstuhl Med Center, mover took my bike away and I was having grand visions of touring europe for the coming years. Nope, Uncle Sam changed her orders to Tripler in Honolulu. Thats the only reason why I can count HI and now I'm so close its become a personal goal to check off all 50 on the same machine.
I need to get it done though, its getting old and I'd REALLY like to have a new one. ;-)

Well New England should be doable in one trip, at least!

Got my new 2015 KTM 350 XCF-W ready for the season...
Sicass Racing street legal kit, turn signals, horn, controls, keyed ignition. P3 orange carbon fiber skid plate, Enduro Engineering handlebar risers, Wolfman enduro tail, MSR grab handle, Cycra pro bend's with Sicass deflectors that have front signals built in, Acerbis X-grip frame protectors. I have a seat from Seat Concepts on the way along with an Acerbic 3.2 gallon tank. She doesn't need much else, disc guards and a pipe maybe but I don't want to re-map just yet, the stock 44hp in this flawlessly fuel injected 230lb machine is plenty for me.

Sold my SV650 and picked up a new Yamaha Bolt threw on a Vance & Hines and a few other goodies. Rode to work this week, chilly but smiling!

You'll find it will run cooler (and more power) if you can get someone to install the Euro map. Personally, my local ktm shop was clueless so I just got a vortex ecu for my 500, you may have better luck. You'll like the SC seat, have one on both my ktm's, truly a lifesaver for long rides.

Very capable machine, though largely unchanged for many years. I'd suggest before pulling the trigger on a repeat, check out something like a KTM 690 or 500 EXC. The fuel injection in these modern machines is night and day different from their carburetored counterparts.

I like the look of the 500 EXC. Just not sure it would be big enough to do longer cross country trips on... I like the DR because of its ability to tackle trails yet be competent (tolerable) on the pavement... I prefer a "street bike" that can handle the dirt rather than a "dirt bike" that can handle the road... The BMW's are nice but too bulky for my likes.

Yeah that 500 would be buzzy for long trips. That KTM 690 is right up your alley, also it's Husqvarna counterpart that just came out, the 701 Enduro is sure badass. The last ADV ride I went on my dads buddy showed up on one. So sweet.

the 701 Enduro looks nice. I like the vintage traditional look of the DR but the modern lines of the 701 look good. I may have to rent on e and try it out sometime.

That thing is sweet! I just saw one at the local dealership and am extremely tempted to sell my 2012 450sxf. I hardly hit the track and would like something street legal. How do you like the wide ratio tranny? Probably perfect for the street right?

It's really smooth though stock gearing leaves it pretty buzzy at 60mph, easy sprocket change for taller gearing for higher speeds. It's ridiculously powerful, I can power wheelie in 4th gear. I mean 45hp in 230lbs with buttery smooth fuel injection, so sweet.
Have almost 700 off road miles on her so far. Just got it back from the shop wth new tires and front fork seals, both I destroyed in five days in Moab last month.

Nice! I had a Honda 919, I put 25k miles on it, she was sweet. Fairly well modified with Rizoma goodies and a custom exhaust, CBR929 header and moto gp style shorty can, Buell carbon fiber windscreen and headlight.
Changed the gearing a bit, power wheelies up to 3rd gear. Fun bike.
Putting around on my Triumph Scrambler as my only current street bike, she's laid back and easy hop on for commuting, low center of gravity. Also good for some of the semi off road adventure type riding I like to do with my dad.
Thinking about changing the paint on it soon, I went out of my way to get that matte green but I've had it a few years now and want to switch it up.
