I've thought about the same thing, moving from sunny Florida to down right horrifically cold (sometimes) Michigan.

Balance is key, and nothing is set in stone. What's helped me in some of these decisions is a classic three category balance:

What you do
Where you do it
How much you make

Choose 2. While money is relative, and nobody will ever have enough, my move to the mitt was driven by money and I'm much better off because of it, I've got 2/3 boxes, and I think that's alright. Some day, I'll move to a place I want to raise a family, and switch one of the boxes over.

If you have all 3, I'd say don't change it!

I'm making a change

I went back to school and got a degree in Marketing after caddying for about 20 years. It was tough working full-time and going to school full-time but, it was rewarding at the same time. 'ing it pays off.

I have done very well as a caddie but the years are taking a toll on my body and there is really no going up in earnings except for slight increases in the rate charged per bag. In addition it's very weather dependent and includes no benefits. It also requires traveling back and forth up and down the coast to follow the sun. Which sounds great(in that you avoid the cold of winter) but it takes a toll on relationships, pain in the a** w/health insurance policies and logs a bunch useless miles on the vehicle. Lastly, there is no job security and it becomes very redundant/brainless.

I look forward to having steady/predictable income that should increase as time goes on, being mentally challenged, benefits, the decrease in wear on my body, becoming part of a community, no interruptions in relationships due to distance, permanent housing, less miles on the vehicle, meeting a new crowd of people and anything else I might have not mentioned. lol

I figure, worst case I can always go back and be a caddie should I not enjoy my shot at a career.

Anybody looking to hire someone who is for success in the NJ/NYC area? (Not opposed to NC or FL(east coast) for the right number)

Every day. I currently ship out and honestly I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Actually I do.. it was for the $$$. And while it's awesome being 22 and making serious dough, I really think I'd take a big ole pay cut to be home every night. Having to ask a family wait to for me back home is no good. But all I can say is to you military folk out there that spend months away from home, I really appreciate what you guys do.

I'm hoping once I move out of Florida I can put my engineering degree to use somewhere else other than an oil tanker.

Only 3 weeks, then 3 weeks home. I do have friends that do 3 months at a time. So it's better than the alternative, but I just spent christmas and the last 2 weeks on the boat, and another week through new years. This time of year is the hardest. Like I said money is epic, but I'd rather be home working a day job.

Exactly this....especially with a family makes it difficult to make that decision.

Hello. I will gladly share my opinion with you. Education is very important now and in the future it will also remain important. Because a literate person is literate in everything. Thanks to this I have a job and write reviews ( Beste Online Casinos mit Echtgeld Spielen 2020 ) about online casinos. Do not spare time for your education. This is not some kind of cargo that needs to be dragged all the time behind his back. It is your guarantee for a wonderful and wonderful life.

Yes...

There was a point in time when I wasn’t happy with what I was doing, partly because I was burnt out and no longer had any interest in the job, or so I thought. I left the company only to rejoin it again a year later. The only thing I learned in that time was every job, career, occupation, and business has its own unique challenges and problems.

After I came back, not a lot changed regarding the actual job itself, except for my perspective and attitude. That shift in attitude/perspective ultimately lead to being able to develop better relationships, which allowed me to have influence, and better navigate challenges and problems.

I learned it’s not what you do, but how you do it. Most all of it had to come from within. Being able to get results made me happy and created less stress.

I literally came back doing the same core function as before, but those personal improvements helped me move up, and the job went from something I could not wait to leave, into something I can’t imagine leaving.
