I have had quite a variety of different types of jobs over the decades.
Window washer, dishwasher, mobile home setup, convenience store, fast food, auto mechanic, landscaping, bartender, job coach for disabled adults, security, auto parts manager.
Currently an OTR truck driver.

yea, been working from home since march, however, the company health-bar is not exactly at its best

Up front, I did not read all the replies, but my advice would stay in the steam/pipe fitter trade, but look for a different company to work for. I work in the Pharma industry and we have a large number of maintanence personell trained in the trade, that also, once hired are trained to work as machinists... OR, look into what contractors who service the Pharma industry. We have contract companies whose pipefitters have worked 10 to 20 years doing expansions/new construction alone. They have came to the same plant all those years, they have considerable safety oversight, and they make incredible bank.
something to consider. I'm not saying only Pharma, but any chemical, food, beverage manufacturing company as well.
