My daughter just purchased an early 80's GMC G30 class B+ motorhome with a 6.2l V8 diesel engine. OK, I can handle all of the basic mechanical stuff necessary to resurrect an old and neglected vehicle (brakes, shocks, air bags, some electrical, etc) and most stuff with a gas burning engine, but I have never wrenched on a diesel before. These things were built for some time so I gotta think parts are plentiful, but any advice specific to work on a demon-fuel motor? It only has 61,000 miles on it so I would think it would be good for quite a bit more, but not knowing when it was last run I don't want to tell her to just check the oil and fire it up. God knows how she is going to get it home
