Good to hear/see!!!
@ genmarks
Best therapy is hydrotherapy!!! I can relate to your situation...I had a closed separation 1 degree short of surgery and a couple ruptured ligaments. Shoulders suck to injure. GL on the recovery!!
I longboarded pain free for the 1st time this year. Hoping to be getting some time in the shade on a shorty by the spring!

What did you do to your shoulder in the first place?

Oh man. I spent about a month in Costa a while back and did a few overnight trips up to Nicaragua. That's a place that is definitely on my list to get back to.

Last year while in Washington I landed on my shoulder while snowboarding on a pretty big jump. I tore my AC (acromioclavicular) joint to a grade 3/5, meaning I tore all the ligaments holding down my collar bone to my shoulder. It was raised a coupe inches. And the end of the collar bone was slightly broken.
I had an arthroscopic surgery, they drilled through my collar bone, and there is now a wire synched down by two little brackets that holds my collar bone down, and they also put a cadaver hamstring ligament in place of my AC joint.
Before Surgery, you can see the end of the color bone sticking up:
After Surgery, You can see two brackets on top on the collar bone and lower in my coracoid process, the wire goes in between the two

Just got a little 2-3 foot slop in the Outer Banks. Camped last night in Rodanthe, woke up, drove further South to Buxton and had some fun. It was a South swell so at least the water felt pretty good

My friend did the exact same thing boarding on Mt Baker several years ago. We called his collar bone (because it was poking up out of his shoulder) his nubbin's.

Lol. That's pretty good too. His nubbin's came with his own voice and personality. Obviously a heavy drinker and chainsmoker.

It's been raining a bit too much around here for me to get out in the water..
It's not so much the rain that keeps me out.. its what washes out of the streets and into the lineup that'll get ya.
Hoping I can get out in the next couple weeks though. It's been too long since I've got to paddle around.

Anyone in here skate? My best friends family just build a new house and we get to use the attic over the garage for what we want. Trying to fit a mini bowl in there...

I grew up skateboarding, but only have a couple longboards now. I feel like at my age, it's a recipe for disaster. I have a good friend who I surf with who recently got back into skating. He literally just slammed in a bowl and now has to get shoulder surgery. But that hasn't deterred him. He also just bought a house that has a big barn in the back and he wants to build a mini bowl or pipe in it.
