[QUOTE=v_man;2581708]I fly a Phantom 3 pro , I love it . It has added another perspective (literally) to all my videos . Here's a few of my videos :

Love that mountain. Truly an epic place to spend the night, just don't camp too close to the microwave towers.

The DJI line really is the way to go. Pricey, but worth it. The P3 Pro was my first RC anything and I had alot of trepidation the first couple of times I flew it as I didn't want to wreck it by fly aways or smacking it into a tree. Since then, DJI has incorporated all sorts of 'awareness' tech, making them almost idiot proof. The platform is stable, easy to take off and land and worth the investment.

The only thing I'd suggest is if you go with a Phantom series (3 or 4), you might want to consider getting the additional HDMI out module for the controller. This allows you to use a pair of Fat Sharks or the like to get that FPV experience when flying rather than looking at a glared out screen. You'll get much better precision flying that way and less risk of whacking a bare tree branch in the winter.

@Ray Dunakin
what he said ^

if you are going to get one, don't go cheap and don't buy one to out grow it a week later. do it right the first time.
they are so simple to fly, as long as you have common sense. i use my iPad for flying and turned an amazon prime box covered in black duct tape to help with the glare. if you are flying in wide open spaces like ghost towns you wont have any issues at all. i did crash it once being an idiot i tried to take off on my patio. not a huge issue, broke a prop and that was about it. i have lost it once too, but thankfully the return to home option works perfectly.
one thing i would recommend, is don't let the return to home land it. use it to get it back to you, then land it yourself. its crashed on landing every time I've used the return to home function.

Thanks for the tips. One more thing… I don't have a fancy smartphone, just a flip phone. Is a smartphone necessary to operate these drones, or can you get a dedicate control system?

You could get an iPad and have a dedicated control system that you can read t4r on and look at maps.

If you can look past some of the douchebaggery of Casey Neistat, he put together a decent video on the Mavic vs P4P+ vs Inspire 1 recently.

What are people running now? Any tips for shooting? What are people editing with? Just got a Mavic 2 Pro. Super easy to fly, and the photo and video resolution is awesome. Just still learning the ins and outs.

I have a Mavic Pro which I bought in 2017. This summer I bought a second one so that I'd have a backup in case anything happened to the first one during a trip.

The Mavic Pro 2 has some nice features. If I wasn't already invested in the earlier model, I'd buy a MP2.

I had two drones, the first one I bought and it was just terrible, but I was happy with my second drone. He has a good camera, so I often shoot beautiful landscapes. It shoots in 2K , do you think there are drones that shoot in 4K? .I want to buy myself a good drone, and choose between two interesting options on Home | The Buyers Impact however, the main qualities that I need in a drone is a great camera and a good battery that will keep a charge for a long time. I hope to buy a drone in about 2 weeks, because I'm going North of Denver soon, and I want to take great pictures

So I'm not a drone guy. Don't know a damn thing about 'em.
But I do have a question for those of you who are savvy.

Is there a modestly priced drone out there strong enough to carry and distribute a liquid payload? Say, a gallon or more.

There are a load of illegal cannabis grows 'round my parts and I'd like to "liquidate" some problems.

Yup.

If the law can't (or won't) adequately dissuade illegal growers in this NorCal county (Trinity) - because the federal green provided by growers of illegal green pad the back pockets of county supervisors and local law - then it becomes up to residents packing sufficient nut sacks to do something about it.

The best way to hit 'em where it hurts is their crop.
So, again, I ask - are there marketed drones that can carry some weight, along with a wireless camera for guidance?
A little, judicious dab o' Round Up will go a long way.

You do realize that if you spray their crops with roundup they will sell the weed anyway, which will poison people?

This is not to mention what the poison will do to the natural vegetation and the wildlife that eats that vegetation!

Yes, there are several that shoot 4k video. The DJI Mavic Pro I bought in 2017 shoots 4k, and the newer versions do too. DJI also makes the Phantom series which shoots 4k plus has other high-end features.
