Why is that so hard to believe? I mean, look at how many people will buy a complete wrecked rig and part it out. Long run they will make up their money and then some.

"in my experience" implies multiple vehicle sales with the characteristics alluded to, meaning selling them in both conditions in order to arrive at the stated conclusion.

04 Acura TSX sold modified
93 4Runner sold as is
96 4runner Parted
2011 4Runner sold as is.
I agree with Hepar's point earlier. Its all a matter of how much your time/effort is worth to you to return to stock. Honestly, I wish I pulled and sold the lift off of my 2011 as it made no difference to the trade value.

You will get more money parting it out if you kept the original parts. Depends if the hassle is worth the $ for you.
