Good decision!! Extra security is never a bad idea, especially considering the times we live in))) I would suggest you to find some local security agency, having great price for home security worth it!! For example, we have outside cameras and some special sensors at the doors and windows. We live in a house and I did not want some outside roulette for the windows (I do not like them). So we achieved these sensors and if something, the security agency will see the signal and come to our place. Amazing or? Also the cameras are amazing, we can watch what is going on at home during holidays. You never worry like this))

We live very rural. We secure against 2 and 4 legged intruders.
Good tall fence. Deterrence to digging under. Pokey plants all along fence line, inside and out. Dogs alert to protect livestock.
It's very quiet and we know when predators are about.
It's all deterrence. It's just easier to move along to another house.

An example, just now.
Just after midnight, our dogs alerted at the south fence.
Two pigs bedding down outside the fence.
This also had the horses alerted to the south.
Watched them with NVG as they decided to go elsewhere.

Still hanging around, outside the fence, not tearing up our stuff.

Wow, you guys are so up to date. when I retired in 2007, digital cameras were just coming on line. alarms (Radionics and First alarm) then commercial fire inspections. Lucky my old FA168 is working just fine here.
