In some cases pop-ups are classified as SPAM depending on their content.

In the simplest terms possible. This is not a 3rd Gen topic, period, and no one can argue that. I harp on members about using this forum correctly all the time. That includes searching for topics, and posting in the correct location.

I'm sure someone else will comment back to me on this, and that's fine. My opinion will not change, and I will continue to stand behind this thread being in the wrong sub-forum. This is my opinion, and I have never said that your opinion or anyone else who posted is not correct. I've only stated that I didn't agree with the location it was posted. The content on which you're posting is very relevant to what people are saying is an issue. I personally can't agree with anyone on this topic, and that's because these pop-ups aren't happening to me.
All good man.

I think this subject, under normal operating circumstances would be better served in a "more appropriate" sub forum, the fact of the matter is that those focused sub forums don't get traffic.

This topic in the 3rd gen section has well over 1K views. Two similar topics about basic site operations, that should be far more straightforward, don't see over 300 views.

I get the impression that the admin silence is either due to not being able to address the issues, or, that the issues are related to partially sanctioned advertisements that have gotten out of hand, and... change the basic feel and lay of the land that we have come to know over the years.

I would like to hear what the admins have to say. I would like to know if they understand and are addressing the issues.

This would at least be comfort to know that all the effort that all members have contributed, past and present, are not being crafted into a marketing strategy. This has never been a focus of this site and I don't think the members would stick around to continue if this place goes commercial.

This is EXACTLY my fear. The silence is obviously purposeful, and I shudder to think what backroom dealings are being arranged, using our hardwork as a bargaining chip.

It's very tempting to remove all of my past posts, guides, etc until we get some answers.

Same Here and worse

I’ve been getting bombarded with these while using my IPhone 6 Plus! It’s almost ruining the site for me. I really enjoy this site and have learned a lot but I even had my whole account clears and deleted. I had to contact the administrator and then I got it going again only to receive PM messages from some Porn Site. I hope gets fixed. I’ve got a question about some rims I can get for cheap but I don’t know exactly where to post it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Why OT and not GENERAL section? This problem affects the whole forum and indirectly affects how members surf this 4runner forum. It is not a political thread or pissing contest thread. Moving to OT makes it seems like your guys want to push this issue under the rug.

I support this forum. But these spams and redirects are just bad.
