Hmm i've owned two in the past (76 and 79 series, abroad obviously) and while i do love them, they are a bit basic and mechanically old school.

I mean they are great as long as you have quite a big budget to change suspension, bullbars etc etc. Otherwise it is too uncomfortable for everyday use. It's a work horse 100%.

The 4runner is much more refined.... But at the end of the day, the 70 series is a Land Cruiser and that is all I can say

I'd prefer a bare bones 4runner without any soccer mom crap, or flatbed Hilux/Tacoma. Something like this The Toyota Land Cruiser Utility Is The Basic Stripped-Out Diesel Manual SUV Of Your Dreams

For a few months now I've been having the serious wants for a new Suzuki Jimny.
That of course will never be sold here.
