SuperCooler group buy?

Seems like we're due for a group buy on one of the super duper coolers like Yeti or (better yet) Grizzly?

I have a Pelican 50qt, and it is awesome. I like the locking latches much better than the rubber ones on the Yetis. I'd recommend anyone looking for a rotomolded cooler to check these out too.

I think someone did a rotomolded cooler group buy maybe a year ago, IIRC? Anyways it really wasn't that much of a deal and I think it was basically a deal for "free shipping". Otherwise I haven't seen too many if any GB's on these coolers. The good news is that there is a ton of competition in that market and prices have gone down significantly. Yeti still remains on the pricey side and I would say not worth it. Engel, Orca, Canyon, Pelican, Grizzly all make great coolers that are cheaper comparatively to Yeti. Then there is RTIC who IMO forced all these other companies to drop their prices. Yeti even sued them.

I like brands like Orca and Grizzly. Both are Made in USA and have lifetime warranties. They're also much cheaper than a comparative Yeti which only carries a 5 year warranty and made in the Philippines.

Check out Gandermountain if you have one by you, they are going out of business and discounting yeti coolers

I`d take their "sale" with a grain of salt - quite a bit of the stuff is discounted from inflated prices... Hence the stores are still somewhat full. YMMV

I got the yeti tundra 65 for $297. I would say that's a great price.

No Gander in my area.......

You maybe the first person to ever get a deal from Gander Mountain!! Nice price on a Yeti 65. That about $100 off, I wonder how many they sold at +20% above MSRP?

Ozark Trail (Walmart brand) has reverse-engineered the Yeti line of products and is offering them at a fraction of the cost. I've seen several threads on them across automotive, camping, and firearm forums with it being pretty unanimous they are as good as the original.

I've never had the discretionary income to own any of the, "good" brands - so I have no real experience to draw from. I can definitely say the Ozark Trail insulated mugs, koozies, and coolers match the performance claims of similar models of the Supercoolers.

Otterbox anyone?

just throwing it out there. The brand Otterbox, mostly known for their almost indestructible cellphone cases, has a series of coolers out that look amazing and have a bunch of accessories. Worth checking out.

I've had an engel for a number of years and prefer its latches over the Yeti, for what it's worth here.

No doubt, that's a good price. I was seeing the Yeti 45 last night for $249? (memory).

Problem is, the Grizzly 60 is $249 on their website, made in USA, lifetime warranty and free shipping.

Sorry this thread got highjacked. Yes it's time for a another GB on roto-molded coolers.

A quick google search shows lots of cooler shoot outs.....to find the best of the best might be a never ending debate.

12 Top-End Coolers Ranked and Reviewed | Field & Stream

The Ultimate High-End Cooler Shootout

https://bestcooler.reviews/best-insu...nd-rotomolded/

FYI, I bought a cheap cooler once (pelican) thinking they were all the same. Still ended up getting a Yeti, because it's just designed better. Latches easier to use, holds ice longer, doesn't scratch the living crap out of the inside of my rig.
