Get the one you WILL carry. If it feels great in your hands at the range but it's a pain in the ass to carry, you'll leave it at home. Yes, shoot as many as you can but also get to know what kind of holster and position will work for you and the gun. I'm at work right now in shorts and T-shirt with a 3 in. Smith and Wesson 686 Plus hidden away. For you capacity guys... I'm comfortable with only carrying 7 rounds of .357 Mag. I shoot this better than anything I have ever used. Heavy revolver but the right belt and holster makes it easy.

AND remember...'a hamburger wrapped in gold is still a hamburger.'

I carry everywhere...without exception. When I need to really conceal because im going into a prohibited area I bring my walther PPS (original, M1) it is tiny and thin. It is ULTRA reliable and accurate. I have a very comfortable holster and wear it at 4/5 o'clock. It is effectively invisible and not to hard to draw with some practice. I carry with the flat base 6rd mag and usually throw an 8rd in the pocket. Ive got thousands of rounds through it without a single failure. I dont go to the range with less than 500rds. Im a walther whore so I have a P99 and a Q5 in regular rotation as well but the PPS is the definition of concealed weapon. Small enough to hide but big enough to matter.

There is a lot of personal preference when it comes to action and ergonomics. That said, I have carried:
Glock G26, G27, G19
S&W M&P Shield 9mm
Sig P239
Sig P365
I trust my life to all of them. The G19 was great. I wanted something easier to conceal. I have yet to try any of the newer single stack Glocks. I still have the Sigs and highly recommend the P365.

guys gotta remember the op lives in kommifornia, where we can only carry black powder muskets, due to a handgun roster that is closed to newly designed firearms.....
So most of the firearms you freestaters are listing, are deemed too dangerous for the peasantry to own by our communist rulers in kommifornia....
Sure we can get them, but we have to pay overly inflated prices for used guns from LEO's who flip them. You guys should see what a 2nd hand gen 5 glock goes for in cali.....

The only problem with G19 and G17 is that you're technically supposed to carry them with the dildo CA 10 round mags, which somehow manage to make them unreliable.

Good Point. From my list, I would recommend the M&P Shield for a roster approved option.

Then get a black powder pistol you would carry. Then grow balls and vote your oppressors out of office instead of spreading kommiforniacation to surrounding states when you can no longer pay the taxes.

Can’t liberals dominate over conservatives 3 to 1....brainwashed sheep.
Don’t blame the conservatives if liberals are invading your state...you barking up the wrong tree

I love Glocks. They are simple and they just work. I currently have a G27 to carry when concealed. I've probably shot close to 1,000 rounds out of it in it's lifetime and it's never failed on me.

Best "small" gun that I have ever shot (and its my carry gun now) that doesnt feel and shoot like a "tiny" gun, is the Sig P365
With the 12 round mag it fits your hand well, and no other gun its size holds that many rounds.
Shown here with the 10 round mag.

Lol,I blame the conservatives who spend more time bending over for those in Power then trying to change things. Funny how anyone who lives in " cali" can call those that don't "brainwashed" it would be cute if not so pathetic .

obviously, you don't know math, and can't read. The brainwashed sheep are those that live in cali that keep voting dems... Dem's have a 3 to 1 majority in commifornia..so explain how anyone is going to vote them out......Oh wait, you can't.
Sorry man, I don't know how to make things anymore simpler for you to understand. Do you want me to bust out my colorful crayons, and draw pictures for you?
Actually, you might eat my crayons....
and so not to derail this thread......my go to:
g26 b/c of the magazine dildo restrictions, no real reason to go bigger as Landcruiser mentioned.

Ruger lc9
I hardly notice my Ruger is even in my waistband most of the time. It's comfortable accurate and Ruger is an amazing company for services. I have never had a jam and I trust my life with this handgun. 7 round mags and tons of custom options. I also carry a full-size series 80 1911 .45 cal.
